The course curriculum is set up as per the growing technologies. The exams are conducted in two phase for a semester as MST and EST with two sessional prior to both of them. Thapar has well equipped labs for almost all the things you need. You won't complain here for shortage of lab equipments and all.

The courses are planned really well as all the data is available in libraries and websites of thapar University and can be accessed by any student any time . The previous year question paper and tutorials help in better understanding regarding subjects and the labs help in increasing practical knowledge.

The main reason for men to select this course is obviously my interest in electronics and computers. And also the recession scenario going on around the world.I think there is no need for any improvement in the curriculum of the course.

We get to do a lot of projects through aout the course, few of them are in the subjects included , but we can also pick up projects from professor by forming a team of students each semester. It is very practical.

My Course is a B.E in Electronics and Computer Science(ENC). This course offers 60% electronics subjects while 40% computer subjects. This branch was started by this college 6-7 years back with the aim that this branch will provide some better service because students have knowledge about both the fields. This is true because companies are more interested in this branch as compared to electronics or computers provided the students have the knowledge base. It is observed that in the past few years, the average package of ENC branch has been higher than even computer. It is important to note that the branch comes under the electronics department not computer and all the faculty is also from the electronics department. Although they are all good. The course curriculum is designed to offer a taste of both electronics and computers to students but not specialisation in either(you have to do that on your own). Also, exams are held 2 times in a semester with some practical/quiz evaluations.

Course curriculum is quite advanced. New and different types of technologies are used to teach children like Blockchain, AWS, Arduino, raspberry pi. Experiential lerning workshops are also conducted every semester.

The courses are good, in first year it includes courses of all branches so that a student can change branch according to their interests. The faculty of some courses are very good and it's interesting to study, but some are very bad and you don't wanna attend their class.

Electronics and computer engineering course is a course involving both core subjects of electronics and computer science. It is a unique and great course for gaining knowledge in software as well as hardware. The favulty student ratio is 1:33 and the faculty recruitment is done on basis of their phd they have done in particular field. There are two exams MST AND EST which are taken timely roughly after 1.5 month of regular classes

The course curriculum is relatively on par with what is usually taught throughout our country is regularly updated too. Teh faculty are mostly average. No doubt in their education but rather their skills. My course is an up and coming one which is why i opted for it
Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, established in 1956 is ranked 29th by NIRF, amongst the top engineering colleges in India. Keeping in view the increasing demand for the skills in electronics and computer science, Thapar introduced the Electronics and Computer Engineering branch a few years back in association with Trinity College, Dublin.
Course Structure:
Course Fee:
The fees for the electrical and computer engineering course is 15 lakhs and the total student intake in this course is 180.
Placements:
One of my friends had been in the very first batch of B.E Electronics and Computer branch. I might be able to share some facts about the college and the course which can be useful.
If the students are not a big fan of coding cultures that the CS branch usually offers nor good at ECE setups then they would not regret getting into this branch. In the end, the placement will only be availed by the students with their hard work and efforts.
Thapar University has a good reputation for its Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) faculty and placement. The faculty members in the ECE department at Thapar University are highly qualified and experienced in their respective fields. They are dedicated to providing quality education to their students and constantly update their knowledge and skills to stay abreast of the latest technological advancements.
Thapar University has a dedicated placement cell that works towards providing placement opportunities to the students of the ECE department. The placement cell has tie-ups with various reputed companies in the electronics and communication industry, such as Texas Instruments, Samsung, Intel, L&T, Ericsson, and more. The placement cell conducts various training and development programs to enhance the employability skills of the students, such as mock interviews, group discussions, and soft skills training.
Over the years, Thapar University has maintained a good placement record for the ECE department. The average salary package offered to ECE graduates at Thapar University ranges from 6-7 lakhs per annum, while the highest salary package offered can go up to 25-30 lakhs per annum. Many students from the ECE department also go on to pursue higher education or research in reputed institutions both in India and abroad.
In summary, the ECE faculty and placement at Thapar University are well-regarded, and students can expect to receive quality education and excellent placement opportunities in the electronics and communication industry.
ECE at Thapar University is more Hardware orientated. You may find yourself dealing with semiconductors for about 3 to 3.5 years. In addition to this, will be the onslaught of programming languages and a little portion of database and networking.
In case you opt for the Computer Science program, you'll notice that it is purely software-oriented and has a lot more on programming languages, architectures, databases,, and networking.
ECE is the 2nd best option after CSE as its cut-off is just below it. This year, cut off score for ECE is as listed below:
Particulars | General Category (Outside Punjab) | General Category (From Punjab) |
10th Marks (PCM) | 95.66% | 85% |
JEE Main 2021 | 65.05 percentile | 87.47 percentile |
As for placements, some well-known companies which visit for recruitment, are Texas Instruments, Whirlpool India, TCS, HP, Larsen and Toubro, ST Electronics, Philips, Mu Electronics India, and others. The placement rate is an amazing 99% for most of the departments. The highest package offered this year is 43 LPA and a total of 970 students got placed.
