LMTSM admission 2024 for the MBA program (Phase-4) is currently ongoing. The last date for the submission of online application form is June 10, 2024. The online TMAT and Interview will be held on June 14, and June 15 respectively. More other updates for LMTSM are as follows:
- LMTSM PhD (Residential and Executive) admission 2024 (Phase 3) is underway and the deadline for the application form is July 20, 2024. The list of the shortlisted candidates will be released on July 24.
About LMTSM
Located in Mohali, Chandigarh, L M Thapar School of Management (LMTSM) is a pioneer business college in Northern India, offering four academic programs for Postgraduate, Doctoral, and Research studies. Currently, LMTSM offers MBA, AMDP for working professionals, PhD (residential), and PhD (Executive) Programmes. The courses rendered at the institute are approved by AICTE and UGC. With students coming from all across India, LMTSM comprises a residential facility for over 500 students.
LMTSM shortlists the eligible students for its various Programmes on the basis of the Thapar Management Aptitude Test followed by GD/PI rounds. Meanwhile, the valid scores of CAT/ XAT/ CMAT/ MAT/ GMAT/ NMAT by GMAC/ GRE/ SNAP tests are also considered in case of nonavailability in the institute-based entrance test. For EMBA admissions, a minimum of six years of relevant work experience is required and candidates are shortlisted based on the PI round.
LMTSM has displayed an impressive placement during the recruitment drive of its MBA Batch of 2023. The placement rate during the recent placement drive remained at 98.3% with a total of 77 recruiters visiting the institute. The highest package offered to the students was INR 23.5 LPA and the average package recorded was INR 7 LPA. Candidates are required to apply online for MBA admission. Applicants will be shortlisted based on the overall academic performance and test scores available at the time of application. Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an in-person assessment and interview.
Following are the various components for admission to LMTSM flagship MBA Admission:
- Professional Readiness: The profile readiness component of MBA selection comprises two parts:
Video Statement of Purpose – A short video not exceeding 03 minutes and preferably in MP4 format should be, submitted before the interview, describing the following points:
- Your motivation to pursue an MBA
- What is unique about you as a person?
Interview – A personal interaction with the admissions panel, where the applicant is assessed for the overall fit.
- Academic Readiness: For admission to LMTSM MBA Programme, the academic readiness comprises two parts:
Quant & Verbal Aptitude Test – To be assessed on the basis of the applicant’s valid CAT/ XAT/ NMAT by GMAC/ GRE/ GMAT/ CMAT/ MAT/ SNAP score. In absence of any of the above-mentioned tests, students must appear for the Thapar Management Aptitude Test of 60 mins in duration, on the day of the interview.
Non-verbal Aptitude Test – A 40-minute test on non-verbal reasoning, conducted on the day of the interview, and is mandatory for all applicants.
- Academic History: It comprises three parts:
- Class 10 Performance
- Class 12 Performance
- Bachelor’s Degree Performance

Ans. Talking about the accommodation charges at LMTSM, the AC hostel fee is INR 45,500 while the non-AC hostel fees are INR 34,500. The hostel rooms are double seater. The mess cost at the hostel is INR 17,500 per semester.

To be eligible either you give T-MAT exam that is thapar's entrance exam. You can apply through CAT also, the required cutoff is 60%. After that PI is done. Application form can be found on their website.

- The location of the college is something everyone will hate.
- It's near a small village and between kilometres of farms.

Eligibility of course has some basic requirements and the rest is dependent on your previous academics plus your Personal interview. Reservation benefits are not known to me. The admission process is fine. I Could have more communication but overall it's okay.

During my pursuit of a good MBA, I initially looked for the best colleges and to get those I appeared for CAT and NMAT examinations. I wasn't able to get very high scores consistently throughout my academic years in 10th, 12th and Graduation so with whatever I got with me I looked for some decent MBA Schools. One of my friends suggested me for Thapar as he was also doing MBA from here only. So then I decided to appear for its selection process. Admission went quite smoothly as the first step was of initial online screening through which they were shortlisting the candidates for final counselling based on previous scores and academic history and also scores of NMAT and CAT. Once shortlisted I was called for further processes of Group Discussion and Final Interview. It went well as they only asked us about ourselves and what we did in our graduation.
Admission:
As I am doing an MBA, the admission is based on their entrance exam and the interview. According to that, the selection of candidates will be done. There is no issue of age but the course of MBA is to be done after bachelors. For the admission process, the candidate needs to submit all the necessary documents with signature and then the further process will be going on.
Course Curriculum Overview:
Our syllabus was updated as per the norms prescribed by Thapar University. It was very detailed. Student's performance assessment was done on the basis of class performance, summer internship report, project report, external exams, etc.

LM Thapar is a pretty awesome place in terms of academics and faculty support. The infrastructure and the placements still have a lot of scope of improvement, but overall it's a nice place to pursue post-graduation if a fee is one of your issues.
