Guru Kashi University BSc Agriculture Course Details

Structure

The 4 year B.Sc Agriculture (Hons) is a rigorous course. It is a semester wise course, divided into 8 semesters.
It is based on the Credit System. For each semester, there are 24 Credits and an additional 1 Credit for NCC/NSS/Physical Education till Semester 4.
In the first and second semester, the candidate has to choose an elective subject known as deficiency courses from Mathematics and Botany.
Students with a medical background at 10+2 can choose Mathematics I and students from the non-medical background can choose Botany I.
There are Lab papers as well and a total of 100 marks is divided into internal and external marks.

The staff is very Co-operative. Generally the cooperation is note likely to seen in private colleges.
Diversity of students is there. Students from different states and countries.

Dislikes

Most of the staff members are not of doctoral qualification.

The specific aspect that influenced me the most about this course is dealing with the farmers. And from some past years the slogan ' No Farmers No Food ' is on the lips of everyone. They are the 'annadaatas' of the country. The areas for improvement are: to make policies that are beneficial to farmers and not against them. The frequency of exams is twice a semester. Mid-sem and end-sem. The difficulty level is medium

The south indian food in mess is not tastes as well as in South India. The south Indians should adjust for food

I like my university environment very well there is very greenary. A very large area with full facilities.

There is food problem for south indians because there no south indian food is available if avalible itdoed not tastes good in university mess
During winter there is very cool environment it is very difficult for south indians better if they provide heaters in class room.

This course is related to agriculture science, marketing and management. This course have a great scope after graduation. The college follows the syllabus prescribed by ICAR, New Delhi. Fee Structure And Facilities:

Fee structure is a bit expensive which can be as this is a private university. They take 50000 od a sem which are taken in two half of the sem. Also there are hostel charges if anybody is interested, which cost 50000 of a year stay which also includes food.
