Life at IIT Indore - "What makes it stand out!!"

the campus life is really great. best environment(obviously indore) and all the basic to advanced necessities available in the campus itself.
The hostel and mess facilities are equally good. the mess menu is decided by the student dining committee itself. and we have flat system in hostel so each individual has its own room.
The faculties and staff are really supporting, a lot of good opportunities provided by the clubs to gains insights from various domains Like Robotics, ML, etc.

Dislikes

The caterers sometimes follow their own menu due to which we stop eating mess food, but then the same is restored.
the campus is more academic oriented, like faculties try to engage the students in academics only preventing the students from indulging themselves into other activities.
the campus is still developing, construction work going all around, also no zones for us to just hang out like in other II'Ts say IIT Roorkee

Admission:

its an IIT so i chose it over NITs, IIITs, etc. i applied to top IITs also but could not get because of my rank constraints. as i cleared JEE Advanced therefore i was not rejected rather i was not alloted that because of availablibity of higher rank students. Eligibility - Ongoing 12th atleast Exam - JEE Advanced Cutoff - around 15-20% scoring 33% really get you into IITs.

Infrastructure is as best as it gets. Single occupancy rooms for hostels, excellent central dining facility, spacious classrooms, etc.
Faculties are very talented and experienced, a lot of things to learn from them under research.
Placement services are great, provides ample opportunities for students.

Dislikes

Infrastructure is good but not quality wise, the quality of construction is poor. Having difficulties in monsoon
Course curriculum is not that great. It should be according to industry needs, just like other IITs
While some faculties are great, some are just existing there without much doing. Their sole purpose seems to just exist there without contributing much.

Admission:

I choose my college because of it's reputation as an Indian Institute of Technology. The sole reason of me being in this college is quality of education which is common for all IITs and my JEE Rank. I could have been to better IIT if I got better rank, needless to say I aimed for the best branch which is CSE. The college admission process is straightforward but still lengthy. Eligiblity to enter this college is only determined by JEE Advanced Rank. Once the student have got their JEE AIR, and they have been alloted seat from JoSAA, all they need to do is gather relevant personal documents according to the list which college provides, and present them on the day which is told beforehand, then all the thing which is left is verification of documents, once verified, the student is good to have some rest. Cutoff for general category on my exam was around rank 1400 in JEE Advanced. I had multiple options of college to choose from namely BITS Pilani, IIIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore CSE, I chose the later solely because of reputation and I still agree that this would be the best choice.

I liked lot of things like classrooms library
Auditorium sports complex and swimming pool

I like hostels of our college. Hostel are always clean.
Campus is also my favourite among all college.
The campus is very green full, there are many tree and flower all over the campus.

Dislikes

I don't like it's mess food taste and quality.
Timing of some labs are also very odd for only our batch.
Some professor are very rude and disrespectful.

Admission:

Since childhood I am interested in space so among all IITs indore is only one that provide space course. So my first and last preference is IIT Indore. By the way Indore is very good and well known IIT. I have passed the JEE and JEE advanced and I scored well so i get chance in IIT

I applied for higher iits but due to high cut off I get this iit Indore and I have no regret about it. To get admission in my college you have to clear your 12th and 2 exams named jee mains and after selecting in it you have to give jee advance. You have to score according to the cutoff of present year

Life @ IIT Indore

The fact that IIT Indore was a comparatively newer IIT at the time made it possible for students to access newly built hostels and amenities not usually easily found at any older IIT. The campus was quite beautiful and offered a lot of amenities.
Although IIT Indore was 5 years old at the time of my admission, reputed companies visited the campus for placements and it didn't feel like an uphill task to achieve good placement figures.
The curricular as well as the extra curricular environment at campus was quite wonderful. All facilities related to sports, library, gym, jogging, etc. were provided which helped everyone relax and learn at the same time.

Dislikes

The mess food quality (included along with hostel accommodation) was not up to the mark. There were several vendors who were changed in a matter of few months, and this process was undertaken every year.

Admission:

I had applied to various colleges under the JEE umbrella including IITs and NITs. I got admission from various colleges via my JEE Mains and JEE Advanced ranks. Some of these include IIT Gandhinagar, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Guwahati, IIT Roorkee, NIT Allahabad, NIT Warangal, DTU, NSUT, IIIT Delhi, etc. I chose IIT Indore majorly due to the choice of my branch that was being offered, the city of Indore which is well connected with airport and railway station, and the modernity of the city. I did not get a rejection per se from the choice of my college as the selection criterion is purely basis the JEE rank. The admission process to IIT Indore (like any other IIT) depends on the JEE rank and the seat is finalised during the online counseling process.

Wi-fi availability every day and availability of sports equipment

In mechanical , gender ratio is somewhat not good
No single rooms in first two years for 2027 batch
Placement statistics of core branches aren't good

This college is newly established and developing fast at time of my admission . You just need to qualify kee advanced with a decent rank to be able to cross cutoff to get an admission. And it is not that much difficult

All about IIT Indore

Likes

Campus is really nice, hostels are cleaned, well maintained.
Faculties are approachable, good to communicate.
Research facility is quite good. Various techniques are present.

Dislikes

Situated very far from city. Things are expensive to buy.
There is negligible scholarship offer for master student
There is very less placement opportunities.

Admission:

I got into IIT INDORE through IIT JAM entrance exam in BT code. JAM counselling is held for admission to IIT only. This college has better infrastructure, better hostel conditions. Good research opportunities etc.
