Students can sit in placement interviews from 7th semester. Talking about this year's placement in Petroleum, Highest package till now is 25 lpa and average is 7 lpa. Companies like Baker Hughes, Quest Global, Haliburton, Shell, LnT, Weatherford, EY, etc have come and have taken students. Many more companies have come for placements and have taken students. I have got my placement in Quest Global and so I am happy.

The course curriculum do try to amalgamate all the aspects of petroleum engineering but it is of no use if most of the students are not getting placed in core sector, then this knowledge is just waste of time.

Students become eligible for placements after 3rd year. Various multinational companies visit the campus including Reliance, Shell, Heisenberg, Microsoft, Apple, HP, Hindustan Petroleum, and ONGC. For petroleum engineering, the highest package was 22 lakh provided by ONGC and 5 lakh was the average package. Almost 95-96% of students got placed. My plans after getting a degree are that I would be first complete my masters, then would do job, gain some experience my working in corporate world and then join my family business which is also of petroleum industry.

Getting placed in the public sector unit like ONGC or oil India etc. This is my target of mine to achieve in campus placement only. And get high-payout jobs in these companies. And to apply the knowledge which I have gained in my college studies in a practical way
One of my friends studied at Pandit Deendayal Energy University (PDPU), Gandhinagar. According to him, it is the right institution to study Petroleum Engineering.
Categories | PDPU |
Course Fee | INR 9.73 lakh |
Placement Percentage | 80% |
Highest CTC | 12-16 LPA |
Average CTC | 6-8 LPA |
Recruiting Companies | ONGC, Schlumberger, Shell, Reliance, etc. |
PDPU Gandhinagar offers a great campus life. The campus life is also vibrant. They host lots of activities in various areas like coding, gaming, debating, etc. Also, lots of workshops are there for different streams. PDPU Gandhinagar has yearly cultural and technical fests known as ‘Flare’ & ‘Tesseract’ respectively. Overall PDPU is good and also has a strong alumni network.
