Well everyone is chasing CSE but it confuses as it has many aspects but ICT is industry based program and therefore many companies now ICT students over CSE students. Exams are quite regular and a normal thing because difficulty level to be honest ain't that high.

Personally first year course structure should be changed as for example a cs student like me wouldn't wanna study anything from mechanicals subjects as in the future that subject wont be any use for me

The course curriculum is rather questionable. As i chose ICT and my batch was the 4th batch to ever exist. We were sort of an experiment. Some courses were really relevant but others were not so much.

The curriculum updates every year. They add new subject every year which has demand in job market. They have very good lab for prectical. There are 2 main exams, mid semester and end semester(and there is one internal assessment too)

My choice of studies has a lot to do with my personal beliefs and my family. I chose this course because I wanted to gain knowledge and experience in this criteria. At that time it was an uprising course too. Generally in my class there are 100 students and approximately 120 so there are 6 teachers, who teach us. so the ratio is 20:1(students : teachers). Mid-term takes around August and end term about September- October in a semester. The exams in the second semester are much harder than the first semester. the teaching faculty is great when it comes to being friendly and helpfulness.

The best part of the college is its faculty and course curriculum. You are provided with sufficient knowledge of the topics you need to know to prepare for any exam(like GATE). The college has highly qualified professors with good teaching experience. The teaching method is soo practical. (except for one or two) The curriculum makes students knowledgeable and understanding. In a semester there are two exams, 1. Mid-semester exam 2. End-semester exam The semester exams can be easily passed if you study properly and pay attention to the lectures provided. You can easily get up to 6-7 CGPA.
My course was Information and Communication Technology where we get to learn about computer software and programs technology and the knowledge based on network communication that includes 3g, 4g and 5g. Th e faculties are very good and qualified
The main reason for taking ICT is this branch connects the fundamentals of ECE as well as CS. So this is the connecting branch between these two. All teachers are PhD qualified and the teaching method is also good. The exams are divided majorly into two parts mid-sems and end-sems. Mid-sems are 50 marks whereas end-sem is 100 marks and sometimes there are internal assessments also that take place.

The reason why I choose the ICT branches is that the physical mixture of Electronic Communication And Computer Science provides a better opportunity to learn about communication as well as programming coding and other software-related things student to Faculty ratio is around 1: 20 all the faculties are PhD or undergoing PhD they are pretty well in teaching but some of them have better teaching skills or have the knowledge but they are not able to deliver the proper knowledge to the students. exams are here conducted every one and half months mids and after one and half months end sem in between there are assignments and other small internet test exams are not very much hard also not easy to pass

The overall faculty and course curriculum is okay and gives one enough time to explore other fields and hobbies but there is a strict eighty-five percent attendance rule which is very tedious so half of the time people try for mass bunking rather than studying.
For ICT, Ahmedabad University is the better choice. It is an old reputed university. The faculty base for ICT is better there. Along with delivering quality academics, it offers decent placement opportunities. In the recent campus drive, the highest and average CTC offered was 15 LPA and 4 LPA.
One of the perks of joining AU is that you will get to choose any course from any faculty with your core courses, be it Management, Commerce, Arts, Life Science, etc.
PDPU is a good option for pursuing ICT. The course curriculum is designed beautifully. The course structure is such that students get to learn from other resources as well. ICT bridges the gap between CE and ECE. The course outcome is pretty good in the field of technology. The faculties of the department are helpful and cooperative. PDPU placement highlights show the average and highest CTC to be INR 6.09 LPA and INR 25 LPA respectively.
Both are excellent courses. Computer engineering focuses only on computer programming. ICT is a blend of ECE and computer engineering. It is perfect for students who are into programming and electronics. The institute offers BTech programs for ICT and CSE and the total course fee is 9.73 lakhs. Admission to the BTech ICT and CSE course is through JEE Main.
Here are some facts for the courses on placements, course subjects & fee structure.
Course Curriculum:
Computer engineering mostly involves programming, whereas ICT is a combination of programming and electronics.
The course will become more focused on ICT and computer engineering from the third semester with subjects like Data & file structures, smart sensors & IoT, RF engineering, etc in ICT and computer graphics, embedded systems, artificial intelligence, etc in CSE.
Fee structure:
Both ICT and computer engineering have the same fee structure.
The fee structure for ICT & CSE is INR 2.53 lakhs for the 1st year. The total fee for 4 years will come to around INR 9.37 lakhs (not including hostel fees).
Faculty:
That faculty that teaches ICT & CSE in PDPU is well-qualified and experienced.
Almost all the teachers are Ph.D. holders in their respective fields.
The teacher to student ratio is high for ICT compared to CSE as there are 120 seats in ICT as opposed to 240 seats in CSE.
Placements:
ICT:
According to the placement details of 2020, the highest CTC received by the students of ICT was around 9 LPA.
Some of the major recruiters at the institute were TCS, Cloud 24*7 lnc, L&T Technology Services, etc.
CSE:
Students in computer engineering receive some of the highest placement packages compared to other departments. The highest CTC offered was around INR 35 LPA from Microsoft. The average CTC offered is around INR 6.5 LPA.
Some of the MNCs that provide placement opportunities for CSE students are Infosys, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, Cognizant, Mindtree, etc.
Both CSE and ICT are similar when it comes to fee structure and faculty. The placement rates for ICT students are comparably lower since it is a relatively new course. CSE students have been getting some of the most lucrative CTC packages. However, only choose a course that genuinely interests you.
