Course Curriculum Overview :

Firstly I belong to a business family with a business in petroleum engineering and later I wanted to join my father's business and hence I joined petroleum engineering. The course curriculum is very well designed to take care of every aspect of education. They teach us every subject not only course curriculum but also values and courses from other streams (open electives). The teachers here are very excellent and supportive with lots of knowledge.

Placement Experience :

Students become eligible for placements after 3rd year. Various multinational companies visit the campus including Reliance, Shell, Heisenberg, Microsoft, Apple, HP, Hindustan Petroleum, and ONGC. For petroleum engineering, the highest package was 22 lakh provided by ONGC and 5 lakh was the average package. Almost 95-96% of students got placed. My plans after getting a degree are that I would be first complete my masters, then would do job, gain some experience my working in corporate world and then join my family business which is also of petroleum industry.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The tuition fee is 4 lakh rupees per semester. Therefore, the total cost of 4 years would be 3200000. I am currently in 2nd year and have not undertaken any job. There are various scholarship if you get a particular rank or marks in JEE Main or ACPC

Campus Life :

There are many technical and non-technical fest held during a semester. This includes various seminars, workshops, and various events. There are clubs for almost every activity you want. The campus is very large about 100 acres with all sports facilities including cricket, football, volleyball, table tennis, chess, carrom, basketball, and badminton. The Library is very large and there are a total 4 libraries on campus with various books of each subject, digital e books and digital newspaper are also available. The college also has NCC and NSS.

Hostel Facilities :

I took the hostel provided by the college and the hostel was ok. The college has two hostels namely: UG hostel and high rise hostel. The UG hostel is given to students in first and second years and the high-rise hostel is for students of third and fouth years and also for students doing masters and Ph.D. There is double sharing rooms in UG and triple sharing rooms in high-rise hostel. The food of hostel is ok. The college provides an almirah,a bed,a cupboard,a pillow and blanked and an ethernet cable with two keys one of room and one of the almirah

Admission :

There is no eligibility for the course of petroleum engineering. You can find the application form, application fees, and application dates on the PDEU official website: pdpu.ac.in. There are many rounds of admission. When I got admission there were a total of five rounds of admission. I got admission in the third round. The exams are held after almost 3 months and the exams are quite difficult. You have to understand the topics completely to pass the exams.

Other Applied Colleges

Shiv Nadar University - [SNU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Chemical Engineering)

I could not fulfil the elgibility criteria of 60% in class 12th but I passed their entrance exam

University of Petroleum and Energy Studies - [UPES] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Gas & Applied Petroleum Engineering)

The college was too far from my city and the connectivity of my city is not with Dehradun and also PDEU is better for petroleum engineering than UPES

Placement Experience:

As of last year, most of the students who applied for campus placement got placed but with an average ctc of rs 5 lakh/annum. The companies visited include Adani Port, Adani gas, Torrent Power, and other companies. The highest package was rs 15 lakh. Generally, most students from here prepare for entrances like a gate, toefl, cat, etc for admission in masters.

Not know much about placement but from what I have heard it is average. You have to decide beforehand whether you want to go for placement or a master's after that college provides a special course that is delivered by CD Cell CD stands for career development.
