- their are various student activity hotspots all around the campus.
Dislikes
- there are no AC facility in hostels. You wont require AC for 1-3 year but in final year summers it feel like a necessity
- even though are guest industrial lecture, there is hardly any industrial visit
- there is no student association that could point out anything wrong in staff or administration
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum was updated recently. students have on hand experience in labs. students also get exposure to the subjects of other branches during their first and final academic year. exams are held twice per semester.
Internships Opportunities
Various companies like Technip, Microsoft, and Reliance offer summer internships to pre-final students. Final year students also get 6-month internship opportunities in their final year from Zomato, Amazon, Flipkart, etc.
Placement Experience
Students are eligible for campus placement in their final year (7th semester). only a few companies made no offers. I can recall only 1 name Nation with NAMO. highest package in Civil branch was 14LPA. Average is 6LPA. for all branches highest was 42LPA with average 12 LPA. placement % is 60-80 among all branches which is improving every year. I am planning for higher education.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is paid semester-wise. First year fee for General category is 164000/- (93000+88000), for the rest of the years (2nd, 3rd, and 4th year) it is 159000/- (79500+79500) per year. As for SC students (along with ST and PWD category students) tuition fee is waived off. First year fee is 56000/- (30500+25500), and for the rest of the years it is 51000 (25500+25500) per year. Mess fee is charged seprately.
Campus Life
There is an annual technical fest "techniti" and an annual cultural fest "Utkansh". A multistory library provides access to all students to read and issue various books. Class rooms are equipped with smart boards and projector. room are connected with centralised AC. there are a number of student run clubs. Zeal Society for communication, Netra for photography, SI crew and Criminals crew for dance, Octaves for music and many more. i would suggest to join these clubs, it gives you exposure and you learn alot from here.
Hostel Facilities
there are 10 boys hostels and 3 girls hostels. Each hostel has its reading room and common room/TV room. Food quality is average, the menu is selected by the hostel committee, and students are members of the committee. Hostels are afforadable as compared to local PG or flats.
Admission
I applied for PEC, Chitkara, CU, LPU and NITJ. Out of which I could have enrolled in anyone except PEC. I choose NITJ cause of its low fee, better placements and good reputation. I got rejected from PEC (punjab engineering college) as my JEE percentile was not sufficient. For Btech admissin you need a valid Jee rank and students are enrolled through Jossa portal.
Faculty
Btech course is a 4 year (8-semester course). exams are held twice every semester (mid sem and end sem). Faculity is well educated. excluding a few teachers, most of the teachers are helpful and available even after their class hours to help students with their doubts.
Night Life
Indoor gym and all other indoor facilities are closed at night. Eating places are open till 10 PM. there is no closing timing for boys hostel but girls hostel closes at 10PM. you can visit Snackers at night as it remains open till 1AM most of the time. all other outdoor ground and gyms are available to access.
