Good Remark: Has high class infrastructure with most modern amenities.24 hours electricity and water.Fully wifi enabled campus and we get internet connections of about 100 MBPS.Most advanced LaboratoriesNeat and clean campusA lot of eating outlets.Bad Rem

Entrance Preview :

IIT JEE I scored 217 out of 408. This college has the best Metallurgy department out of all the IITs. So i opted for it.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is quite dynamic. We can choose subjects from a wide variety of electives. We have top class professors over here from foreign universities.

Internships Opportunities :

College was able to able to provide intern to about 90% student. Some were paid stipends of about 1 lakhs but some had to spend of their own. Foreign internships are also arranged by our college. In that case stipend of upto 4 lakhs is given.

Placement Experience :

Every year about 85- 90% students get placed. Companies like Facebook, microsoft, google, oracle, op morgan, excl analytics come for placement. Salary varies from 4 lpa to 80 lpa.

College Events :

There are two big events: Spring Fest- socio cultural fest & Kshitij- technical fest. Both take place in month of january. About 1000 students from other colleges participate in this event.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The institute provides 100% waiver in tuition fee for students whose parents annual income is below 4.5 lakhs. Students of SC and ST category are also waived from tuition fees.

Campus Life :

There are a lot of extra curricular activities going throughout the year. There are about 20 societies to conduct those events. IIT Kharagpur has the most advanced laboratories of the world. Annual Sports event take place every year. We have cricket, football, basketball, tennis, hockey fields.I will make a special mention of our Robotics Society and Debating Sociey which are famous throughout india.

Hostel Facilities :

We have to pay Rs 8250 as hostel rent and Rs 11000 as mess fee per semester. In first and second year we have double or triple sharing system.In third and fourth year we get single rooms.

External Expense : Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Alumni/Alumna :

There is an Alumni Cell which connects the current students with passed out students. Every year many alumni visit campus during the annual fests. Some passed out students take up the role of mentors to help the existing students. Some well establised alumnis give donations to college.

Exam Structure :

Every semester we have one mid sem and one end sem exam. Plus there are numerous no of class tests. Its a very hectic schedule.
