- We have a very great placement and internship cell that helps student in placements and interns.
Dislikes
- I think that there should be free buses inside the campus as it is big so i donot have to pay for e-rickshaws.
- One that i would also like is installation of air conditioners in hostels.
- There should be an option to choose if you like to avail mess or not as the food isn't good and one can eat cheap food in canteens as there are subsidized a lot.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is designed for you to gain both soft skills and hard skills and the course is pretty much relevant to your field of study. O e thing that i would like to is more focus on teaching computer applications in our field as it helps more. The teaching method is nice it includes 3-4 lecture a week plus a tutorial each week. There are 2 exams each semester MTE and ETE.
Internships Opportunities
We have a lot of companies that offer internships i can mention one of my senior's got a intern of 9lakhs for 2 months in quantbox and one of the senior from my branch got a 2lakh intern for 2 month at british petroleum. We have internships in all sectir from IT, consulting, core , ongc , British petroleum
Placement Experience
Our college has a very good placement ratio and placement also depends on the economy and industry that year and a lot lf other factor but if you have a CGPA of above 8 you are moat likely to get placed. The highest package ranges from 2-3 crores and average goes around 13lpa. I am currently planning to do an MBA after graduation from a foreign university moat likely Harvard.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is subjected to change so i can't state whether it increases each year but yes it increases after 2-3 years by some amount and the college release fees for each on their website so you from there from year 2024 to 2025 i will let what it was and there is some fees which is charged only for 1st semester and some of it is refundable too . Here’s the complete year-wise fee breakdown for IIT Roorkee, including hostel and mess charges: General/OBC Tuition Fee: ?1,00,000 per semester Caution Money (Refundable): ?7,000 (one-time) Admission Fee: ?1,500 (one-time) Registration Fee: ?750 per semester Development Fee: ?5,000 per year Library Fee: ?1,000 per year Career Development Cell: ?300 per year Medical insurance ?700 per semester Other Miscellaneous Fees: ?5,000 per year Hostel Charges: ?10,000 per semester Mess Advance: ?20,000 per semester SC/ST/PwD/EWS - only the tution fees is waved the rest of the fees is same. Campus Life
Our college campus life is one of the best we have 24 hour canteens and our student activity centre has fully furnished centralized air conditioned for each club and students use these facilities to the fullest and build projects and competes in lot of competions they also organize fest and summits on a national level so you get a very exposure in your field of interest. I am currently a part of IRMUN which does model united nations so it helps in improving me debating skills and my knowledge of political plus i am alos in our college's society of business as a product manager.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is okaish in firat year most students get a triple room and from third year onwards you will get a single room. The room are okay but the only problem comes in summers beacuse there ia no air conditioning in hostel. The mess sucks so i don't eat much out there.
Admission
As we know IIT ROORKEE is one of the oldest engineering college in while asia and has a very good alumini connection and placement record so i chose it and it is also closer to my home. To get into IIT's you have give jee mains and then advance and then you get your college according to your rank. I had a rank of 9236 out of 15 lakh students who applied originally so yeah it's pretty tough to get into .
Faculty
Our facult members are mostly good with a deep knowledge about the topic there are teaching and a lot of published papers. The student to faculty ratio depends on course to course the common courses have a lot of strength but with your department courses it is usually just your branch. A lot of people do their own things in classes as the course is easier for most part . Our grading depends mostly on the professor's hand usually it is 50% for ETE , 25% for MTE and 25% for quiz , assignments and attendance. There aren't many students thay fail the exam i have seen a lot of guys just studying before a week and they get pass too.
Night Life
We jave 24 hour canteens and a lot of options to choose from . Each hostel has their own gym with trainer and a centralized gym . The gym closing time is usually decided by each bhawan/hostels secretaries. The library closes at 12 and opens at around 8'o clock in morning. There is a study room too which is open 24×7. Our college is campus if fully safe at night you will find a lot of people hanging around late nights. There is cafe coffee day in our campus which is lot subsidized so you can hood coffee for a fraction of what you pay outside.
