Course Curriculum Overview :

7 out of 10. I chose product design cuz the syllabus of it was much more comprehensive than other domains in amity. The curriculum for product design is well articulated to match the industry standards. However a In certain areas the teachers fail to provide the necessary teaching and tutorials. The frequency of exams is basically once every two months approximately. And so far the exams haven't been tough in my opinion.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The course fees for Bdes product design is 1 lakh 25 thousand per annum with an increase of 20 thousand per year. In the first year it's 1 lakh and second year 1 lakh 25 thousand and so on. For courses like interior and ux ui it's upto 1 lakh 35 to 40 thousand. There is scholarship aid available on the basis of 12th merit and semester cgpa basis. Also financial aid for certain tax brackets are also provided.

Campus Life :

The campus life in amity is very fun and the events are immaculate. If you're coming to amity you're going to enjoy your college life to the fullest as the events in college and department wise both are very frequent. Specially in design department the seniors arrange a lot of events on daily basis. The club's in amity are adequate as well

Admission :

I applied to IIAD , PEARL AND RV UNIVERSITY. and I had gotten in all these w 50 to 100 percent scholarship. However I found these colleges not affordable so I decided not to join them as for IIAD it doesn't provide a 4 year degree for design but a certification course which I wasn't interested in. I applied to nift and nid but I didn't manage to secure a college in those. For amity you need to give a test and an interview and need to have atleast 60 percent in your 12th boards.

Faculty :

The faculty to student ratio is enough as there are 6 to 7 teachers for a batch of 35 students.however teachers are hard to approach as they are on visiting basis so you can only meet them on class timings but the pl programme leader is always available. In my personal opinion the product design studio faculty is good but the other faculty for smaller subjects such as elements of design are lacking. There are 2 major exams mid sem and end sem with both having internal viva external viva jury project and a written theory exam and a project assignment based exam. The passing of students is also dependent on attendance so a lot of students fail to appear for exam due to not meeting the 75 percentage of attendance. The course being relevant to the curriculum is approx 70 on 100.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is pretty average, students become eligible in the 8th semester. Many renowned companies come for placement like adidas, bata, da milano, mr diy, hidesign, homecentre etc Avg packages vary, as of past 2 years its 8 LPA , highest goes up to 12 to 14 LPA. Placement rate is around 90% After degree i plan to sit in placement and then go for masters.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement drive starts from the beginning of the last semester. Companies like Bata, Zara, Hidesign, etc. offer various roles. Many export houses and design studios also offer placements. Although, not a very high package is offered initially.

Placement Experience:

From last year the placement process starts. This college includes more opportunities for footwear student and retail student. I really don't have idea about packages and placement as I don't have much contact with the seniors.

Entrance Preview:

"There was a written exam and an interview. I opt this college because I found it's good reviews and also my parents liked it". The written exam was not that much difficult, but the interview part was very interesting, the way interviewers asked questions was very impressive and very friendly, that made me feel comfortable to answer any question.

Placement Experience:

Placement opportunities are also Nice, but I'm not that much satisfied. As the pay scale of our most of the alumni are very low, or up to the mark"

Entrance Preview:

It consisted of two entrance tests firstly in a set of two CAT & GAT i.e Creative ability test and general ability test. I qualified for both and then had to give a situation test in which you are given a set of materials which you have to use and make one of the products asked. I always wanted to be a designer and has always been creative since school and NIFT is one of the best institutes I could choose to pursue my career.

Placement Experience:

Placements and job opportunities are good but not all get to do what they always want to do. There are different type of companies which come for placement such as export houses, brands, retail groups, designers etc the starting package is about 3lac p.a. Companies like pantaloons, lifestyle, myntra, jabong came for the placements.
