  • The infrastructure is really old which dates back to 1961 and over the time it has just been renewed and not completely furnished or reconstructed
  • I guess they should change the curriculum since they have been following the same curriculum since the beginning and ig it’s high time that it gets updated

Course Curriculum Overview :

Nid follows a old style curriculum which has its own pros and cons. Here we prefer sticking to the basics in the beginning we believe in building our base rather than rushing. We imply more of practical knowledge rather than theoretical basically we experiment live with our ideas a lot and we are allowed to explore anything that we are interested in

Internships Opportunities :

Nid offers many internships. But since I'm in my second year I'm not aware about much information they have time ups with multiple fashion brands which are Tata originated and plus many government projects are handed to nid interns

Fees and Financial Aid :

The fees for nid is supposed to be paid in two instalments towards the beginning of each semester. The tuition fees for each semester are 183500.Hostel is for 6000 per semester and mess is 23120 each semester. Nid provides freeship to the students whose annual income is less than 500000 per annum and the distribution of the scholarships depends upon the availability of the fund and the number of students applying. To avail a scholarship you need to have a sgpa above 5.

Campus Life :

Basically everything in nid is handled by the students itself you are free to start your own club or any kind that you desire. We have music dance sports yarn et club over here. And plus all of these are interactive sessions and in nid we majorly believe in peer learning that's why the clubs are oriented and carried on by students themselves

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel infrastructure is not great. Hasn't been changed since 1961. We don't have mineral water facility on all the floors. The mess food is pretty decent. Breakfasts are the best they cook all kinda eggs you want. Hostel charges are 6k per semester and mess charges are 23410 per semester

Admission :

Nid is no 1 designing college in India. For you to get into this college you have to qualify a exam that has two rounds. Prelims and mains. So in prelims you have 60% creative aptitude test and 40% general aptitude. And if you happen to clear the prelims you will be qualified for the studio test which is the final round. Which includes more of receptory activities like implementing sound understanding images making models.

Faculty :

Usually there are around 2-3 faculty members to look after 20-30 students. Most of the times the faculty is really understanding and helpful and allows us for extension when we have valid issues. And talking of exams we don't have any written exams we have jury towrsds the end of each semester which is basically like interview in which you display all you assignments that you did over the year

Course Curriculum Overview:

Interior design as a career is a good option as you get to know a lot of things practically. The faculty is really good you can have one-to-one conversations whenever you want. They really give attention if you ask one. Our faculties have completed their mdes in interior. One year consists of 2 sem in which sem 1 has 2 parts one is jury which is taken by an external jury member and one from our faculty itself. They ask many questions but you need to have a proper reason for your every work.
