Remarks

There are a lot of pros and cons about NID, which the pros includes, it has the best faculties from the india, better facilities, campus is really great it has lot of trees and birds, good wifi with a great internet speed, placements are good. And cons includes, some dipartament has less number of faculties, food from mess can be made better.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is set by the head of the department and is improvised every year since the start of the college, sometimes the faculties from outside India also comes as a visiting faculty. About the exams, we dont have a written exams as such but we got assessed for every course we have attended and a jury will be there about all your courses for the semester.

Placement Experience

4

The placements are good and it is really a huge event there, a lot of big companies come for the interviews. College doesn’t provide the internship but some companies specially comes there to take interns and their stipend varies according to the company.

College Events

5

The college has a main event called Monsoon fiesta, which takes place during monsoon of course. In which various events like sports, poster war, promo video competition, dance competition etc happens.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Because NID is a government college their Fees are really low compared to other private design colleges, Its fees goes around 3 lakhs a year including hostel and food. It is really feasible. And if you know you wont be able to pay all your fees then you have a option for loan from Bank of India, which doesn’t keep any mortgages.

Fees and Financial Aid

College provides a scholarship, the college has a comity that takes interview about the scholarship. Mostly the scholarship is you will get is based on the income of your family. It varies from 50% to 100% of your tuition fees.

Campus Life

5

College provides heavy machineries to the students to develop their products, it has 2 main workshops 1. For wood works 2. Metal works. About extra curricular activities NID has a volleyball court, a basketball court, table tennis, recreational room to watch a movie, sometimes students conducts musical nights and karaoke nights etc.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni are the biggest part of the NID life, they offers you the knowledge which even the faculties are failed to provide. There are groups on FB which is specially made for the NID alumni. You can also connect to your alumni through social media and share your work and get feedback on it. They are really helpful.

Admission

You have to give an entrance exam to get pass your 1st phase, which takes place around 1st or 2nd week of january. You get forms for it during october and november. After that they select some students for the studio test which will be your phase 2 and after studio test there is an interview session. If you pass them all you got the admission.

Faculty

4.5

The faculties in NID are really good and experienced, they have the best experiences from around the world I can say, sometimes some faculties from other countries also comes as a visiting faculty.

Course Curriculum Overview:

It is a 5 year course with a dedicated foundation year which was a driving factor in chosing this course. The curriculum requires us to actually go in the city and explore different types of manufacturers and makers which taught us a lot about how the real world works. The only improvement i would suggest is having more group activities. There are 2 major submissions in midsem and endsem and they aren't difficult at all if you have completed all your work.

Nid follows a old style curriculum which has its own pros and cons. Here we prefer sticking to the basics in the beginning we believe in building our base rather than rushing. We imply more of practical knowledge rather than theoretical basically we experiment live with our ideas a lot and we are allowed to explore anything that we are interested in
