Course Curriculum Overview :

I'm persuing textile design course at nid and it's a really well structured course compared to nift in terms of value and exposure. The curriculum includes various practical skills and theoretical courses which prepare you overall and give you a good base to start in the industry.

Internships Opportunities :

In textile design there are a lot of companies for internship like fab India, max etc. Role give like surface designer for prints, weaving, apparel designer and many more. Stipend given on an average is 25-30 k per month

Placement Experience :

There are campus placement available after 4th year and after completing graduation project. Highest package given was 80 lakh per annum and avg is 8-9 lakh rupees. 70 percent get selected in campus placement and my plan after getting degree is to do masters and study more.

Fees and Financial Aid :

Fee for every student is same except for nri students they have to pay 5 lakhs per semester which is double the fee of a regular student. There are scholarship for economic weaker section of students. I'm currently paying 220000 per semester.

Campus Life :

There is one college fest which happens every year in August called monsoon feista. College library call have various good books on design and various craft documentation on hand made crafts from india. Sports are played on campus.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel are very basic no AC is given only fans You can bring your own cooler but only in summer time. Hostel is very affordable. Hostel are inside campus so it very safe. Mess food is okay not very good

Admission :

I applied for nift and fddi. I got accepted in both of the colleges but i choose nid over them because it was more suitable for my career and nid have different decipline like product design, ceramic and clay design, film and video communication, graphic design, exhibition design, furniture design, animation and film design so i can learn from others also and can build my own portfolio according to my interests

Faculty :

Faculties here are like guide and really easily approachable and they are like friends there are about 1 faculty for 12 students and they will guide you properly and give you right direction. Sucharita from textile department is the best faculty. Exam is not very difficult but you have to really relaxed during the entrance exam.

Other Applied Colleges

National Institute of Fashion Technology - [NIFT] | Bachelor of Design [B.Des] (Fashion Communication)

Nid was better than nift for me

Course Curriculum Overview:

Interior design as a career is a good option as you get to know a lot of things practically. The faculty is really good you can have one-to-one conversations whenever you want. They really give attention if you ask one. Our faculties have completed their mdes in interior. One year consists of 2 sem in which sem 1 has 2 parts one is jury which is taken by an external jury member and one from our faculty itself. They ask many questions but you need to have a proper reason for your every work.
