80% attendance is compulsory otherwise you wont be allowed to sit for exams
Course structure needs to be revised and should be made more industry oriented.Currently it is more theoretical

Course Curriculum Overview :

Msc. Statistics in IITB is theoretical as well as applied.You can opt for anything like job or research after completing MSC from IITB. Though Course is well structured it can be revised and aligned to the needs of the industry Exam take place quite often.You have atleast one quiz in a week and midsem and endsem with 2 months gap

Class Size : 48Course Fees : INR 125000 per year

Internships Opportunities :

Msc course starts in july and companies start visiting the campus for internship from october.First phase of internship is till decemeber.Less student get internship in this phase.Second phase of internship starts from January.Many get internship in this pahse. Last time out 42 students , 33 got intermships. For internships its important that you have project and mantain good CPI(>7.5). Companies visiting for internships are accenture,citi bank,hcl,etc.

Placement Experience :

Msc statistcs course has excellent placement.Almost all students get placed with average package of around 16 lpa. In year 2023, 42 students sat for placement out of which 39 got ppaced. Companies like Citi bank ,Accenture ,etc. come. For placements

Fees and Financial Aid :

Yearly fees for MSc statistics course in IITB is around 1,25000 including hostel and mace charges. Semester hostel and mace charges are around 33000 and rest is tution fees. Institute also provides various scholarship like Merit cum means(MCM) scholarship which is provided to top 25% students of class with income less than 5 lakhs. There is no tution fees for SC/ST students.

Campus Life :

Campus life at IITB is really amazing.Though schedule is very hectic. But if you manage your time well then there several things like music , , ,sports, arts, etc. you can explore and showcase your talent. For extra curricular activites you can join various clubs in IITB .

Hostel Facilities :

Hostels are very nice.In first of MSC you are get TANSA hostels and in 2nd year you are alloted H17. Mace food quality varies from hostel to hostel.But overall food quality is good Coming to hostel in 1st year there is a double sharing room whereas in 2nd year there is single room for each student.

Hostel Fee : INR 66000 per year

Admission :

I did not apply for any other college except this.IITB is the best place to study statistics after ISI. Anyone who wants to go for higher studies in the field of statistics or want placement may opt this course

Faculty :

Teachers are very approachable.You cam ask them doubts any number of times if you dont understand it. Ananthnarayan hariharan sir is one of the best faculties of mathematics in the institute.He teaches linear algebra There are quizzes , midsems and endsems.You can expect atleast one quiz each week.Schedule over here is a bit hectic

There are some subject with lengthy chapter which takes more lectures but due to their curriculum given credit that one subject have only 2 lectures per week. The journey of my college

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose MSc Statistics because Statistics is a Mother of Data Science and AI which is growing faster in this world. I'm enjoying the statistics. The faculty and students ratio is up to the mark according to me, it is about equal in comparison to students. Teachers are well qualified in their domains and respective subject, and the teaching is also very good. In my college, the exam terms are semester wise and the difficulty level I'll rate up to 7 out of 10.
