Course Curriculum Overview

The curriculum was more focused on analysis and algebra subjects which made this course a little theoretical but if that's the case with whole DU. Some subjects like financial mathematics, game theory, calculus made us being interested in the course till end.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 11500 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

I am a general category student. Did Masters in mathematics Hons and the fees was around 11,500 rs per year. There was no other fees except for this, as this includes all the lab , development and other charges.

Campus Life

I was very much involved in extra curricular activities related to fest organisation and dance society. I also organised many dance competition in which dance teams, individuals came from all over the college's.

Admission

I applied for Hindu college as well since bsc mathematics is good there. Also kirorimal and hansraj and good as well but I didn't applied there. Admission was through 12th class %. In 2015 cut off in ramjas for maths was 93 and my % was 95

Faculty

There were 60 students in my class out of which only 10-11 were girls and other were boys. We used to have unit exams like class tests and stuff other than half yearly and final examinations. Our financial mathematics and game theory faculty was very good

Placement Experience:

The placements in the GIPE are decent. This year the highest package offered was 18 lakhs per annum by Deloitte and IDFC FIRST Bank. Although the placements are not 100% but it's around 60%. Students need to work hard and score well in aptitude test and they should start the preparation from the second semester onwards so that they can easily manage their end semester exams as well as the aptitude test. The average placement package is around 8-9 lakhs. My plan is to get a corporate job and gain some experience and exposure in the corporate world and learn how the things actually work. Many companies that come to the college are looking for data analytics role. The ratio of the companies looking for consultant, risk analyst is less based on market demand and other circumstances.

I applied to only 2 colleges as my first preference was fergusson. So I only appied to fergusson and garware college. I got selected there too but as I got selected at fergusson while I was in dilemma whether to pay fees of garware or not , I decided to give fergusson a chance. So for admission process, they took an entrance exam for which we had to pay Rs. 800/- as processng fees of application and exam. So after giving exam the scorelist came and on the basis of that cutoff was decided for various categories.
