- NIT Kurukshetra is one of the highly reputed college in India. The curriculum they provide is amazing. They provide good facilities in sports too.
- We have machine learning and AI course even for the core branches like mine. They focus more on practical knowledge over theoretical. Multiple laboratories and workshops are present here.
Dislikes
- The professors are strict for the core branches but not for the circuital branches.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The variety in their subjects attracted me insanely. Subjects like Machine learning Artificial intelligence, Matlab are included even in core branches. They provide internship to most of the students after fourth semester and also after sixth semester via training and placement cell. This helps a lot gaining hands-on experience. The students who can't bag any internship are provided with projects under guidance of any faculty members. Taking about improvement, workshops can be utilised more efficiently and marks for attendance should be provided, rest of the things are okay. We have three exams every semester (2 mid sems and one end sem) for both theory and practical. The difficulty level depends solely on the department head for end semester and for mid sems it's upto the faculty teaching us. The questions are moderate but checking is really strict in some of the subjects.
Internships Opportunities :
Microsoft, Google, TCS, Salesforce, TATA and many more companies offer internships to the students with stipend of over 70000. The students here work on projects too. The club SAE makes students work over F1 cars which is highly appreciated by the company visiting. The siemen centre of excellence provide various training opportunities. And most of the students get pre placement offers.
Placement Experience :
Students from sixth semester are eligible for pre placement offers. The placements here are amazing with a good rate of more that 80% of total students placed every year. The college try it's best for placing the students in a good company. Companies like Microsoft, TCS,SubOrs and more visits often with offer ranging from 5lpa to 90lpa. The highest package in 2021 was bagged by a student of electrical engineering but that was off campus with a worth of 1.25cr per annumm. Percentage of students getting placed varries branch wise. For non circuital branches it is around 80% and for circuital it is around 95%. I am also planning to sit for placement after course completion because the offers here are too good.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Tution fee shows no increment after ones declared in the first semester. The complete cost including hostel , academic and my personal spent is around 2 lakhs per year. And many benefits and scholarship are given to the special category of students depending on their income and reservation quota. General students with income above 5 lakhs and bag scholarship only after scoring 9.5+ cgpa every semester. No stipend is there for BTech students offered by the college.
Campus Life :
We have to megafests every year. One is technical fest popularly known as TechSpardha and the one is the cultural fest CONFLUENCE. Tech fest is scheduled in the month of March and cultural in October. We also have small fests throughout the year. The students from various clubs showcase their talents. The libraries are open 24*7 but the book can be borrowed only on working days. For each semester all the books are provided by the library itself which must be returned after completion of semester to avoid any extra charges. Sports field also have numerous opportunities. We have set for almost every major sports played in India like Badminton, Cricket, Basketball, volleyball, Swimming. Annual sports day is also celebrated where athletes win prizes and gym is also provided in both girls and boys hostel. There are many clubs for people with all kind of interests weather it be English literature and debating club, Hindi debating club, Start up cell, SAE(for F1 cars) and some dance crews.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostels here are well furnished with variable capacity. First year boys accomodate in 2 sweaters room and then single seater from second year. Girls are given single seaters from the beginning. The food quality is awesome. The mess here provide only vegetarian foods. Non veg is not allowed even if you cook by yourselves. The mess and hostels charge around 70 thousand per year. The registration process is very smooth. Only payment receipt is required. Rest of the things are taken care by incharges. The faculties here are assigned as hostel wardens and can be contacted in case of any issue. The infrastructure is also good and elevators are provided.
Admission :
Anyone who wants to enroll here for any course of Btech will have to clear the highly reputed examination JEE Mains. It's application can be formed on the website of National Testing Agency(NTA). In this exam reservations are provided on the basis of quota SC,ST,OBS, General -EWS and some sort of female reservation is also here. The cutoff when I admitted here was 93 percentile for general female candidate. No improvement is required in admission process. Everything is almost online and smooth.
Faculty :
The faculties here are highly qualified. Ranging from IITs to NITs post graduate. They provide boht practical and theoretical knowledge with more emphasis on practical. The best thing is unlike other colleges the faculties here so not ask for useless assignments. Here we have certain groups lead by a faculty member who provides solutions of our personal problems too, somewhat like Jeetu bhaiya of Kota factory. We are also provided tutorial classes for all the subjects where we can ask our doubts. Even the professors are so helpful that we can interact with them anything before 5PM regarding any academic or personal problems.
