Real face of NERIST

Dislikes

  • Everything is nice ,the hostel food is average
  • Hostels are a bit old. Some renovations need to be done

Course Curriculum Overview :

The specific aspects of my curriculum that influenced me is the vision of it. Various internship programs are conducted and supervised. We also have some professionals who have a good working experience. The timming of exam is twice in a semester and students don't face any difficulty for that.

Internships Opportunities :

Various internship programs are conducted at our campus. Students also gets intership opportunities from IIT Guwahati, IIT Roorkee and IISC Bangalore and Tool Room and Training Centre (Govt of India).

Placement Experience :

90% of Students here get placed in some reputed companies like Google, Adobe, Oil India, Vedanta, Byjus, etc. The highest offered package is 1800000 INR and the average package is 800000 INR. From seventh semester onwards eligibility starts.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The tuition fees gradually increase with the passing of the semester. The complete cost of your education, including tuition, service fees, and other compulsory charges is 3 lakhs. Various state scholarships are provided to eligible students. Students here get good job roles at reputed MNCs.

Campus Life :

The institution mainly organizes various events like RACAF which is the annual cultural festival, Synergy which is the sports event, and General Freshers Meet. Srishti is one of the most biggest and prestigious technical fest of our institution. The library is huge with good stocks of books.

Hostel Facilities :

Facilities like proper lights, Fans, beds, and full-time high-speed wi-fi connection. The quality of food is average and sometimes below average. A special thali named Bada Khana is given twice a month. Overall it is not bad.

Admission :

The candidate must have secured 55% in the board exam followed by NERIST Entrance Examination which is a MCQ based test needs to be cleared. The details related to the entrance test are available at the official website of NERIST. Reservation benefits are applied according to the national standard reservation system.

Faculty :

The overall learning experience is up to the mark. For every 10 students there is a prof to mentor. Each and every professors are highly educated and 1 or 2 PhD s in their expertise. The professors are very cooperative and humble. So students can easily reach up to them whenever required.

Placement Experience:

The placements are good so far and every year at least 80% of students get placed and the companies that come to give placements are mostly core companies. The average package every year is 8LPA. So I do have a plan to sit on placement.

Remarks:

It is the best technical College in our state and the course I took was good for developments in our state as it is an agriculture based state. Students from various parts of North East come here through entrance. Seats are there for all India students too.So NERIST is full of diversity in culture, caste and race.It provides B.tech,B.sc,MBA, M.tech,M.sc,P.hd program. The course I took was Agricultural Engineering. It was a much needed course in our state which directly depended its economy in agriculture.
