- placements are very well and for those students having weak family background this college is best for them
Dislikes
- College don't have a night life and organizing a fest and getting permission for that is difficult.
- College having 4 to 5 gates having no guards only the main gate having guard.
Course Curriculum Overview :
As a Mechanical Engineering student I personally feel the college provides enough resources to learn and execute everything taught in class and the college also provides auto Cad, NX, SOLIDWORKS, etc. The college also provides Design tech facilities which is very beneficial for mechanical and electrical engineering students. College curriculum prepares you for real-world by providing modern lab equipment but on the other hand, some of the equipment is not working properly and some of the equipment is not in the condition of working. BIT Sindri takes 2 mid-term and 1 end sem examination.
Internships Opportunities :
Now there are 3 to 4 companies come to provide internships example TATA STEEL, ITC, MITEX, etc. projects are different for different companies and depend upon the site where your plant is situated. almost 10% of students got internships from on-campus internship drives.
Placement Experience :
From the 7th sem, students are eligible for campus placements. Last year's data shows a total of 92%-95% of students were placed and the rest of them went for higher studies. The average Package for the students is 6 to 7 lakhs depending upon the branches. The highest package for core branches is offered by Vedanta at 14.5 lpa and for IT company it was 50 lpa. I am here for campus placements and preparing for the GATE Examination side by side.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The tution fee has not incerased its sum total of 52,000 for 4 years (hostel and mess not included) Hostel and mess charges are 7000 for 1 year hostel maintenance fee 2500 electricity bill for 1 year and mess charges are 3900 per month. The college provides scholarships and E-Kalyan for underprivileged students. Scholarship amounts vary around 20,000-30,000. The complete cost of B.tech will cost you around 3 lakh.
Campus Life :
BIT organizes cultural fest BITAANSH and Tech Fest TECHMAHOTSAV. Apart from that the individual clubs also organize their events like Triveni, techudbhav, etc. The college has different clubs run by students run by students, e.g. - The sports club, Arts Club, and Society of Automotive Engineers. etc. The library is open from 9 AM-4 PM and syllabus-related books are available in the library. The classroom contains a projector and Smartboard for a better teaching experience. In short sports and extracurricular activities offered on campus are good. There are several clubs and societies run by students eg-SAE, ISTE, IETE, ARTS, SPORTS CLUB, etc.
Hostel Facilities :
they provide beds and tables only there is no AC in hostel rooms. Meal quality depends upon your mess Different hostels having different mess on an average food quality is not soo good ,but they gives you independency to decide menu. The registration process of the hostel is easy you have to visit hostel and show them the fee slip and they will assign you a hostel. Hostels are quite affordable 10,000 per year is not much.
Admission :
BIT Sindri is only reserved for Jharkhand resident students. Application is available by JUT counseling from where you can get BIT Sindri College, You can't get this college in JOSSA counseling. Reservation is available in BIT there are a total of around 67 seats for the SC category,150 (approx) seats for the ST category, and 50 (approx) Seats for the OBC category. BIT accepts JEE Main marks where for general closing percentile was 85 and for obc, it was 80 and for SC it was 70 and for ST it was 55 percentile.
Faculty :
The faculty-to-student ratio is like 1:20, there are 1 professor for 20 students. Not all faculty member have good teaching skills and communication but they have a good grip on their subjects and they have practical knowledge of those subjects. Students can interact with teachers any time they want during working hours, All of the professors are quite approachable and friendly in nature.
