- One might experience difficulties in the beginning as there is problems with hostel allocation and also the hostels are not very good.
- The pressure is huge as compared to other institutes. Therefore it is suggested to manage it from the beginning.
Course Curriculum Overview :

Offering a wider range of electives for students to tailor their education to their specific interests and career goals. Exams are typically scheduled at the end of each term or semester, with mid-term assessments to monitor progress. The difficulty level is balanced to challenge students while being fair and reflective of the taught material.
Placement Experience :
Students typically become eligible for campus placements from the penultimate semester of their program. For undergraduate students, this is usually the seventh semester, and for graduate students, it could be the third semester. Google, Microsoft, Amazon, IBM, Infosys, TCS. General Electric, Siemens, Tata Motors, Larsen & Toubro. Top tech companies like Google and Microsoft typically make around 5-10 offers each. Finance firms like Goldman Sachs can make 10-15 offers.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Tuition fees are typically reviewed annually. The rate of increase varies but usually ranges from 3% to 5% per year. For the MSc degree the complete cost of my education was approximately 200000 rupees, including the semester fee and hall establishment charges. Apart from this there were miscellaneous expenses which are crucial such as personal needs, medical needs, stationary etc. this cost around 50000. The institute offers various scholarships such as inspire, etc. and they also provide financial aid to students in need. For people in PhD there is institute scholarship which is equivalent to that of JRF.
Campus Life :
Annual Cultural Festival: Known as "Cultura," typically held in February. This festival includes performances, competitions, and social events. Technical Festival: Called "TechFest," usually takes place in October. It features workshops, hackathons, and tech exhibitions. The registration process usually involves applying online through the institution’s portal. It may require submission of personal details, course information, and payment of a registration fee.
Admission :
For the course, one must have a bachelor of science degree in physics and must have a CGPA over 6. They need to appear for a joint entrance test for MSc (JAM) conducted by various IIT and IISc. This examination is conducted in the 2nd week of February every year. The forms of the examination are released in October every year. The application fee is around 1800. The exam is conducted once every year and it the difficulty level is a bit greater than average. It requires a preparation of around 6-8 months to qualify with good marks. For the entrance, there is all possible reservations allowed by the government of India such as OBC, EWS, SC/ST, PWD, etc.
Faculty :
The faculty to students ratio is approx 1:100. Faculty members typically possess advanced degrees in their respective fields, such as Master's or Ph.D. degrees. Many have extensive professional experience.
