Likes

The quality skill development of student for navigation skills full ship infrastructure deep knowledge of ships
Day to day bonding with different state boys learning their cultural and traditional skills
Best quality food and learning national maps at same place

Dislikes

Isolating from social life became a lonely man and fill depressed
Not able to pay huge amount of fees due to lots of boys comming from low background
Many Institute are far from city we feel isolate

Course Curriculum Overview

Core subject the curriculum should cover essential topics such as maritime law, navigation, ship handling, marine engineering, maritime safety and maritime economics. These core subjects provide students with a solid foundation of knowledge across various aspects of the maritime industry.

Fees and Financial Aid

Many organisation both public and private, offer scholarship specifically for students pursuing maritime education and career. These scholarship may be awarded based an academic merit financial need, demographic factors or specifc criteria set by the sponsoring organisation.

Campus Life

Every sunday we can room around the city from morning till evening then after there is zero social life for cadet of institutes in campus we can play sports in busy schedule of course and exams . we have the access of library.

Admission

We have to give indian maritime training institute common entrance test all india level every year twice we have to appear we have to get some good rank and then appear for company sponsorship exam and interview process then after getting sponsorship we have to give institution exam

Faculty

The effectiveness and qualifications of the faculty memberas are very good all teachers are holding captain rank in shipping Experience play a vital role in faculty effectiveness, experienced faculty member have a deeper understanding of the subject matter. For every 40 students there are 2 teachers.

interest in merchant navy made me join this college. and one can become a good Mariner if passed from this college. one thing they can improve is practical teaching cause most of the time the simulator wasn't working.

Placement Experience:

So many placement companies are coming to our college. Companies like Synergy, Anglo-eastern, Andromeda, Fleet Management, New shipping kaisha, stena, shell, chevaron, TCI seaways, MSC, MSI, Maersk etc. Package they offered was based on they profile and ship. Around 20000-45000 were offered from every company. Above 50% of student gets placement.

Best campus for maritime studies

Placement Experience:

Campus provides placement in the best companies like Torm shipping, chevron, Asp shipping, Synergy group, Stena and many more. The placements record is approximately 80%. If students don't get placement then the one year time period is given by the college in which they will get priority for placements.

College is good, but the thing really matters is dedication and practice

Placement Experience:

We can go for job opportunities after course completion, as college will not provide any placements. The course tenure of diploma in food production is of 15 months in which 10 months classroom program and 5 months industrial training. The package totally depends upon our skills but roughly it varies from 1.5 lakhs to 3.5 lakhs per annum. My plans are very clear firstly I'll go for 5 Star hotel initially to gain experience then after 2 or 3 years I'll invest in food startup businesses.

Can join who can leave family for profession

Remarks:

The only thing is it had compulsory hostel even you are having home in same city or area. It leads to make gap between your home and family. And they would train you so hard with Parades, drills, Exercise, etc.

Admission:

the admission process of the college include direct application of the students who wanted to take admissions in he diploma course. the diploma course is generally for the duration of 1 year and don't contain detailed information of the subject as compared to a degree course, so the admission process is very simple as compared to other courses.

Remarks:

the positive remark about the college is the peaceful environment of the college which the college maintains perfectly in the big campus area of the college. the college do have their own gardens and several herbs and medicines are made from them. the college lacks in keeping the students together as one unit.

Pros and cons of IMU Chennai

Actually I wanted to go to ts chanakya navu Mumbai campus it's better than imu chennai for bsc but that time I didn't know how to apply for counselling and I put imu chennai over ts chanakya on my preference list so I got imu chennai.I gave the exam in 2023 that time my rank was 1431 ews category so I would've easily got ts chanakya in first list but I thought chennai is the head quarters so it must be better.For being eligible for imu colleges you must have a score of 60% avg in pcm in 12th and. 70% in English in 10th and 12th .You must clear IMU-CET exam and after that apply for counseling process . After that if you are medically fit just go to the college verify your passport and other documents and there you go....!!!...Read More
