College is good, but the thing really matters is dedication and practice

Remarks :

I analyzed a bit before selecting this college, as I had been through the process I found that this college has a good ranking among all colleges for this field around India. The ranking is being published every year by Times of India, and India Today, etc. The admission process is started in July month and classes were postponed (2 months) due to corona issues to October month.

Course Curriculum Overview :

There were 50 students split into 2 batches, i.e batch A and Batch B. And for each batch for one subject, one faculty is been appointed. As the college is in Chennai so mostly the faculty use the Tamil language for communication and teaching, also English was used but less compared to Tamil and that is the major challenge I faced as I am from north India. Also, the Hindi language is not used, maybe they don't know or something else issue. I had given mid-term exams online only as there was lockdown and colleges were shut down. And final exams are going to be held in May 2021.

Placement Experience :

We can go for job opportunities after course completion, as college will not provide any placements. The course tenure of diploma in food production is of 15 months in which 10 months classroom program and 5 months industrial training. The package totally depends upon our skills but roughly it varies from 1.5 lakhs to 3.5 lakhs per annum. My plans are very clear firstly I'll go for 5 Star hotel initially to gain experience then after 2 or 3 years I'll invest in food startup businesses.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I feel like program fees are high, compared to other IHM's in the country. The scholarship is being given to backward classes of the Tamil Nadu region only. We have to search for jobs on our own as college will not provide any placements.

Campus Life :

Festivals line Pongal and other regional festivals are celebrated in the college. College sometimes sends us for ODC's at various marriage events or hotel seminars, meetings, or any event in which they need manpower, through this, we come to learn more and can gain experience. College provides practical notebooks for writing practical records. As such as of now there is no club of students for extracurricular activities

Placement Experience:

Campus provides placement in the best companies like Torm shipping, chevron, Asp shipping, Synergy group, Stena and many more. The placements record is approximately 80%. If students don't get placement then the one year time period is given by the college in which they will get priority for placements.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, I don't have specific details about the current course curriculum or faculty members at the Indian Maritime University in Chennai. It's recommended to visit the official university website or contact the university directly for the most up-to-date and accurate information regarding their curriculum and faculty. Institutions may update their curriculum or faculty details over time, so direct communication with the university would provide the most reliable information.

Admission:

the admission process of the college include direct application of the students who wanted to take admissions in he diploma course. the diploma course is generally for the duration of 1 year and don't contain detailed information of the subject as compared to a degree course, so the admission process is very simple as compared to other courses.

Placement Experience:

the college doesn't have a placement wing especially for the diploma program but the college does provide assistance to the students about the job opportunities, they have tie-ups with small clinics and medical institutions where the students have to go on their own and apply for the job.

Yes, this college can be more good if few changes can be done as they should change their meal quality and the management should be more strict.
