Course Curriculum Overview :
So i opted mechanical engineering for B.Tech. I am really into machines and car stuff since childhood. It really helps in the real world dealing in machine stuff. The teachers teaching is friendly and easy to understand. The exams are not that difficult, i would rate that moderate.
Internships Opportunities :
Our college provides paid internship for some of the students who got selected for the company. Others can apply for internship for a company of their own. And if all doesn't work, one can do internship in the college under the guidance of a faculty of the college. And I must do an internship in their entire B.Tech life.
Placement Experience :
The placement process is quite nice, companys do come to the campus. We have around 90% students placed in Mechanical branch. If you don't want to seat in placement, you can go for MTech in reputed colleges or try for government exams in particular state
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The tuition fees is somewhat around 80000 per semester, as it a central based college so i guess it's that high. The scholarships are for the students whose family income is less than 500000 per year. The campus employment system is good , around 90 percentage of our batchmate get placed or got a job.
Campus Life :
The college organises two big fest in a year. One is Technosis , which is a tech fest and the other is Incandanse , which is a college fun fest . The campus has the Asia's Largest digital library so quite a handful of books are there. One sport week is organised every year.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel facility is quite nice , i would say. In the last year, we get a single room. The whole single room and the mess food cost around 50000 per year. The mess food is not that I would is nice. I have stayed in hostel for the B.Tech life , and i would remember it for lifetime.
Admission :
The admission process is through JOSAA counseling by the marks you get in JEE MAINS Exam. I got around 91 percentage and a OBC category student so i got the seat in NIT Silchar for BTech in Mechanical engineering. The counselling process is bit long but it is a correct way i guess.
Faculty :
The students to faculty ratio is approximately 5:1 , which is a healthy ratio according to me. But some teachers don't treat all students equally thats one thing i am against. Overall it is good, they provide quite knowledge lectures. And the teachers are quite friendly in nature.
Interview Experience :
For admission, we don't have any kind of GD or Interview process. We just have to pass the JEE Mains exam and through JOSAA counseling we can get the seat through our choices. Then we need to go to the college for actual process of admission on the given date.
