- The Lush green campus of BIT Sindri has been a eye-catching and attractive place for students, the tidy hostels, cafeteria etc are worth more than any other NITs.
- The Faculty of BIT is really supportive as I am in the final year of Mechanical Engineering, the professors here are really helpful and caring. You get a lot of time for self study and for the preparation of other exams as well.
Dislikes
- The infrastructure of this college is a bit lagging as compared to other NITs and IITs as it is old and lacks some sports complex, swimming pool etc.
- Research and Development program is very less promoted in this college, so students interested in research work should refrain from this college
Course Curriculum Overview :
The Btech course at BIT sindri is highly renowned in the state of Jharkhand as the availablity of High-tech laboratories, workshops and IT centre makes it outstand the crowd. Even the core branches offer a good placement. The course can be improved further by adding some Research and Development program into it so that furthermore studies can be carried out. However the exams here are very periodic and easy to take.
Internships Opportunities :
Several intership opportunities are offers at BIT sindri TATA STEEL - 80k for two months of internship. Jindal Stainless - 50k for two months of internship. ITC- 45k for two months of internship ISWP- 30k for two months of internship Puskar techno - 20k for two months of internship. And many more internship opportunities are available for students in many more companies that come every year.
Placement Experience :
Placement are really good in BIT, I my self being placed in JSW have a good experience. After the 6th semester students get eligible for the placements and start appearing for the companies interviews and GDs. The highest package is 52LPA by D.E.SHAW and the avg package is 7LPA. Mostly GET role is offered but MTT and MTS roles are also offered here. More than 80% students get placed every year before the end of college course.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The cost if pursuing Btech from BIT SINDRI is really less as compared to other colleges. There is no such increment in the fees, tuition fee for female is just 32rs per semester. The total amount for a general candidate for four year would be around 1.2lac including hostels. Also students can avails different scholarship like the EKALYAN scholarship by the the Jharkhand Govt. Amounts to 22k to 26k per year. Also the placements are really good here. More than 80% students get placed in companies like TATA, JINDAL, VEDANTA, SAMSUNG, D.E.SHAW, DELOITTE and many more.
Campus Life :
There is an annual tech fest organised at Bit named The TECH MAHOTSAV which is organised every year in the period of feb-may. Also we have fests like TRIVENI, TECH UDBHAV, SANDHAAN, BAJA etc, which are organised annually. Several clubs are aslo there like ISTE, IETE, SAE, MODEL CLUB, ARTS CLUBS, NSS, LEO CLUB, ECO CLUB, etc. which are all managed by student body and they work day in day out for student development. We also have SPORTS CLUB and an annual sports fest SPARDHA in which a lot of enthusiastic sportspersons participate.
Hostel Facilities :
The HOSTEL LIFE at BIT SINDRI is very good because the hostel are really well maintained and clean. Also separate hostels are provided for every year of Students and branch too. Cost of hostel is also minimal, 7000 per year. The mess food is far better than NITs at a cost of Rs 130 per day. Even separate mess for each hostel is provided.
Admission :
For taking admission in Bit sindri you'll have to qualify JEE mains exam. A percentile of 93 and above is enough for a general candidate. Reservation for SC/ ST and OBC are also available at a much lesser percentile. A different domain for admission is used that is JCECB where students fill choices for different colleges in jharkhand and BIT ranks top in them so the highest ranking person would get the admission in BIT. A new CML rank is prepared for that. Even the exams are quite easy and periodic here. The admission process could be improved by doing it faster...as the admission in BIT takes a bit longer time.
Faculty :
The Faculty of BIT Sindri is at par with other colleges due to qualification and experience of the professors, who are really supportive and highly guiding in nature. The teaching style is really unique and easy to understand. Even the workshop are organised on daily basis. Teachers are very easily accessible to every student from 1st to final year.
