- The Campus Area- it spans over 23 acres which is quite cozy.. would seem small to many but believe me this really is fitting for an IT institute.
- Placements - placements are a big deal considering the other institutes of the state. T

- Curriculum - It's just very hectic. Although it follows the basic curriculum like all other universities the schedules are very hectic for the students.
Course Curriculum Overview :
Well none of the curriculum feels helping in the 1st year but it's just there to build the basics. This Institute follows the curriculum the most Colleges follow and has similar subjects. The faculty is good to teach. But in the upcoming semesters courses are curated specific to the branche. Only that the curriculum is too hectic for students in every year. Some subjects need not be there as they don't help in anyway. About the exams, well they aren't a piece of cake here. The midsems start and end in like 3 days. You'll appear 2 exams in one day and there are no gaps unless it's a public holiday. The endsems have some relaxation gaps and you'll take only 1 test per day. It's easy to memorize the PYQs and pass the subjects. So e specific subjects require too much effort. So it's not really hectic in the sense that it's not easy to overcome but because there so many subjects and so many classes for the whole day. Classes start from 9.30 am to almost 5.30 pm on an average.
Placement Experience :
Placements offered are good compared to other Colleges. An average of 12lpa is offered ot students. It's 13 lpa for CSE and 12lpa for IT and CE. For ETC and EEE it's about 10lpa i guess. The highest offer i guess is 39lpa. Also there has been off campus placement of 80lpa. Companies like Infosys, Oracle and others are a staple here. I think mass recruitment is not allowed. Students become eligible for placement drives and ppo from the 6th semester mostly. There had been around 40 companies visited last year. And for the fields 90% placements is an average.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Tuition fees are quite a large sum at around 8 lakhs. Other fees add up to around 975000 lakhs. There's no tuition fee increase as of now and it is Stated that they would inform prior to any changes, however it would really be resented at it is already so high. With all the tuition fees and compulsory charges the total fees would be just less than 13 lakhs including the mess fees. I know it's quite huge and you would never be able to justify where this fees actually goes. There are scholarships and tuition fees waivers offered to the needy students and a good amount of scholarship for the toppers every year is also given.
Campus Life :
Yeah so the fest here is crazy. Advaita is the annual techno-cultural fest of IIIT BBSR and comes around end of February. It is a 4 day fest and many artists are welcomed here. Armaan Malik was the main artist for Advaita 24 along with 6 more artists and bands and Djs. So there are DJ nights and band performances and singers. Last year Asees Kaur performed and other big artists have also been invited. Advaita is a major fest that lines up more than 40 different competitions and events for all the societies. The majors include ROCKATHON a band competition, LAMODE a fashion walk event, hackathons and many more. The technical fest also called D³ organised by the tech and ecell societies is also a big fest having hackathons, technical events, pep talks overnight hackathons and At the end DJ nights. A socio-cultural fest organised by the Vedanta samity and countless other events by all the societies from august to feb. You'll always be busy with them.
Hostel Facilities :
Okay after visiting hostel facility and quality of some very reputed institutes i really feel that our Hostels are really good and clean. For starters theres only a 3-bed option and 4-bed option. Rooms are T shaped and hence your part is private and kinda exclusive to your roomate. U get a bed, a table and a chair. There's a fan for each person and one tubelight for each room . Hostel is kinda mandatory for 1st years and once your admission process is done you have to pick a lottery chit for room allotment and whoala! U got a room. So u can't choose a floor or a room or ur roommates. But from 2nd year onwards u can choose roommates and go through the lottery. There's also scholars block from 2nd year onwards where u can get single beds and whiter walls but u pay more then double the price. Menu and meal quality is total shit. Although u can expect it to change from the next year. It's a weekly coupon based so u purchase flexible meal coupons around 108rs for each day for the week.
Admission :
There are 2 ways of admission. For the Odisha State students can apply from the college website looking at the brochure that's released every year. For further doubts and questions you can mail in the given admission email. You will get replies within a day. For the state category most reservations are available except the OBC category. General cut-offs go upto 90K for EEE branch. The other way is your jossaa for other states category. All applicants from states except Odisha have to apply for this college as jossa starts.A good chunk of people(50%) come in through jossaand csab. The application for Odisha category starts mid-may 2024 and u can expect it to end around October. There are usually 5 rounds before jossaa and then a special round after the jossaa counseling finishes for unfilled seats. If your mains score is above 60k general u can expect to get into this college.
Faculty :
There aren't very big batches of students in this college. And the faculty are goodin handling the students. In the initial semesters you will mostly see phd scholars where some are good and some are worse than school teachers. But there are professors for reputed IITs and NITs. The professors here are really good in there subjects. As of now mostly the HODs are related to the electrical branches. You can approach the faculties for any doubt and questions and they are all good to help you anytime.
Other Applied Colleges
College of Engineering and Technology - [CET] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
The placements are generally lower than the college i opted for. Also the infrastructure and campus isn't very vibrant.
