Dislikes

  • Too much power and politics were involved in faculties
  • Timetable was overwhelming. Timing of the classes were exhausting such that you won't get enough time for finishing home assignments even.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum was both relevant and comprehensive. Though, some updated subjects should be included for finance stream. Marketing is a compulsory choice for students in their dual speacialisation which leaves them with a choice of only one selection. This practice should be improved.

Internships Opportunities :

Two months internship was a compulsory part of the mba program after second semester. Companies such as AEGCL, CDAC were given for the internship. During internship a report known as summer internship report has to be made. And a research has to be conducted during the internship. A whole paper was dedicated to the internship. In third semester, presentation were taken and report were checked.

Placement Experience :

Placement from department of business administration is high in rate every year. Student become eligible for placement in 3rd semester of the course mba. Some of the companies that visit for placement include Bandhan Bank, ICICI, HDFC, IDBI, Pantaloons etc. The job role includes sales and operations. Percentage of students getting placement is above 90%.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Fees structure was 80,000 for first year during the time of admission and then 70000 for next year. In addition, a fees of 1300 was charged per semester for enrolling the examination. State level scholarship was available for students belonging to sc/st and obc classes.

Campus Life :

The department of business administration has a good infrastructure including smart classes with modern technology such as smart boards, projectors for presentations and other facilities such se AC classrooms. Number of faculties are abundant and Management fest is conducted every year. Which includes sports compitition and quiz compitition, photography compitition etc which promotes extra curricular activities.

Admission :

I took admission through WSAT, an exam conducted by department. After clearing the written test, I cleared group discussion and personal interview. After my name got shortlisted, I finished the admission procedure by paying the required amount of fees.

Interview Experience :

Yes, I went through a round of written test, then group discussion and then personal interview round. Topics of group discussion included current affairs of the time. In my case related to economy and covid pandemic. One has to apply through the website of assam university in order to sit for the entrance exam. Then, after clearing the round, one is qualified for next rounds I.e. group discussion and interview. I prepared by reading the current affairs, and working on my quantitative amplitude.

Placement Experience:

From 3rd semester students are eligible for campus placements and can apply to the companies they wish to. Some of the companies that I remember right now are PWC, KPMG, axis bank, ujjivan bank, Vodafone idea, pantaloons, Bajaj Allianz, Tata AIG, Flipkart, etc. The highest package was of PWC. The average package of the placements were around 350000 -400000 per annum. More 70% of the students were placed and some of the students didn't want jobs as they were interested in further studies.
