Remarks :
I applied to all the iim which provides IPM course and I also applied for dujat and Christ University for BBA. I got selected in all colleges except iim Indore so I chose IIM Ranchi which is the 2nd best ( this can be subjective). So for this year, the IIM Ranchi admission process included 2 rounds a written round and a personal interview round. You can enter the college by two examinations that are SAT and IPMAT INDORE. You clear the cutoffs you'll get a call for an interview then you'll get the merit list. There is no age limit to apply for the course. When you get the final offer letter you'll be good to go.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course basically because of two reasons :- IIM tag :- curriculum You know getting into an IIM just after class 12 is a big deal. You get world class exposure and a good peer group. Also, the curriculum consists of all subjects from physics to bio to coding to humanities and a lot of different subjects. The facilities are really well most of them are visiting faculty from good Universities. This is a tri semester based course so the studies are hectic which has regular quizzes and exams.
Internships Opportunities :
You'll get a summer internship in the MBA. You'll be offered internships from several companies. The average stipend went around 1 lakh and the Highest stipend was around 3,30,000. If you are in IPM you'll get 2 internships in the first 3 years.
Placement Experience :
The placement at IIM Ranchi is 100%. Usually, people get placed during the summer internship. Some of the companies are Capgemini, Infosys, DELL Technologies, Mahindra & Mahindra, Vedanta, Accenture, Deloitte, etc. There are over 90 companies visiting the campus. The highest domestic package for this year was 29 lakh the highest international package was 60 lakh and the average was 15 lakh. My plan is to work for a consultancy company after my MBA.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The total fee for 5 years will be around 35 lakhs which includes lodging and fooding. The fees are quite high but banks provide loans at low interest. There are no scholarships offered by the college right now. For IPM students we will have 3 internships in which the MBA average stipend is around 1 lakh.
Campus Life :
Agon rush is the annual fest of IIM RANCHI and it is conducted in August. There are a lot of things going on on the campus like there are a lot of clubs and committees. IIM Ranchi has shifted to its new campus so the hostels and classrooms are well furnished. There is a sports club where you'll get to play every sport and the New campus has a swimming pool too. There are a sports club, cultural club, finance club, consultancy club, hr club and many more.
Hostel Facilities :
The room is quite big and well furnished. The hostel life is quite good. The meal at the campus is good. It is not like a typical mess food you'll biryani chicken sweets fruits South Indian pav bhaji and many more things. It's a complete residential course so you, it's compulsory for you to take the food and the hostel.
Interview Experience :
Yes, if you want to get into an IIM you have to go through a rigorous admission process. So there were two written tests were SAT AND IPMAT INDORE. Both of these examinations have maths and English. For maths, there are elementary maths right from class 6to class 12. You need to be crystal clear with your concepts and you should have good reading skills. You can practice all these from the CAT books of Arun Sharma. So after clearing the written test you will be called for an interview. Then if you are selected you'll get the offer letter.
