Remarks :

I applied for MBA via CAT (Common Admission Test) & got an interview option via the Common Admission Process (CAP). I applied for all the IITs (Indian Institute of Technology) which offered MBA & got selected for three of them: Madras, Jaipur & Dhanbad. I applied for MBA via the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) quota which is executed by the state government. If the annual family income is less than 8 lakh, one can apply for the same. The minimum percentile required was overall 90%ile & 75%ile each in all three sections. One interview is taken for all the nine new IIMs (all except Rohtak). I got selected in all NEW & BABY IIMs except Rohtak & Udaipur. In the end, I opted for Ranchi as my MBA college. The interview was taken online via ZOOM on a stipulated date. I was given a date & time for the same. I was given a date, time & link to appear for the same in formal dress & the interview happened online only. It was a generic interview but one needs to be prepared thoroughly for the same.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose MBA Core (Master of Business Administration in General Management) because it would give me a broader aspect of the industry. At the Indian Institute of Management Ranchi (IIM Ranchi), MBA is offered in three courses. MBA in Core, MBA in Human Resource Management (HRM), MBA in Business Analytics (BA). I got selected in all three courses but chose to select MBA in Core. The faculty to student Ratio at IIM Ranchi is approximately 1:20. Most of the teachers are PhD Scholars from various IIMs (Raipur, Kashipur, Calcutta etc.) & from IITs (Kharagpur, Roorkee, Ropar etc.) At IIM Ranchi, we follow a case study pedagogy where each and every subject is backed by some case study or the other. Whenever any new module is taught, it is backed up by a case study. Students are asked to do pre-reads about the topic & come prepared for discussion in the class. Mid-term exams were every 1.5 months and end-term exams are every three months. Exams are online proctored assessments.

Internships Opportunities :

The internship is a mandatory credit course at the Indian Institute of Management at the end of the first year & the start of the second year. Companies start visiting the college from the first month itself for recruiting students for their internship program with stipends ranging from Rs 15000/- to Rs. 45000/- per month. The Placement Committee helps students get recruitment for their SIP (Summer Internship Program) & ensures that all the students get good offers for their SIP which may get converted into a PPI (Pre Placement Interview) or even a PPO (Pre Placement Offer) depending on internship performance. There are recruiters in the fields of Sales & Marketing, Finance, IT Analytics

Placement Experience :

All the sections have almost equal weightage & each has a cut-off that is required to be cleared. Course Curriculum Overview:

My Fate, I just slipped in the name of the college, 'social service'. Never do that mistake. That too if u r experienced, Please do not even see the college website. I chose rural management, funny. 75 students in a class. 6-7 faculty in the department. Half of the faculty doesn't speak proper English. There is a lady called Aditi who is placement coordinator. She cannot speak a word in English. She is the placement coordinator.... just imagine situation of the placement. In the second year of the college, from each department, a placement representative will be selected through election. All the PRs should work under her. That's the horrible part. She is a coordinator but acts like a gangster. U cannot call her with name. In 2020, that too a professional course, u cannot call anybody with name. Same old slave mentality. U should call by mam and sir. She ruined my entire second year because I was a non hindi speaking student. Teaching faculties are well qualified but 1940-50 methodologies

The placements and internship opportunities are excellent here. After three months you get the summer internship and after the internship, some 50% get pre-placement offers and the rest are placed in their 5th semester. There is no one left behind without placements.

Fantastic college, facilities, atmosphere, faculty and peer network. Only disadvantage that the campus faces is that it is located in Jamshedpur, so it means a fair bit of travel to reach there from Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore or Hyderabad.

My overall remarks about this college is good. however I just want to give one suggestion that it should grow its infrastructure as space available is not much. for example play ground is there but very small and library is attached with computer lab.
