Course Curriculum Overview :
The two year Msc chemistry course at IIT GN endeavours to cut out an alternate speciality for itself contrasted with huge numbers of Msc degree contribution in India. In every semester two exams happens to grade the students and these exams covers only the content tought by professor slides or suggested reference books , overall semester exam level is decent.
Internships Opportunities :
interships oppurtunity are good here , currently iit gn has open application for summer research intership programm , i did a intership in december break 2023 that was best time , i worked in photonics sensor laband the instrumental requirements were more than fullfilled , i was provided unfiltered access to all instruments that i need in my interships programm , As a intern i will be provided with very small task to do. i did my task with the help of profeesors and TAs and it gave me best experience . I was also provided with weekly stipend of INR 2000 for 4 weeks
Placement Experience :
IIT GN has delivered the situationreport for the year 2023 , and has finished Btech arrangments for the clump dropping on 2023 . The general typical bundle proposed to BTech understudies during position 2023 remained at INR 19LPA and for MSc INR 11LPA . Accenture , Amazon, Amul, Cognizant, Physicswallah , Chem academy, deloitte , Adobe , asian paints , tcs ion etc recruters participated in the process. In Msc chemistry out of 35 stuedents 12 selected for placements rest selected for Phd in foreign countries and some went for job through Gate. Overall placements process are easy if one have cpi abobe 8 and have good commuinication skills .
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee structure for MSC & services are INR 48000 per year for general catergory students ,and apart from tution fee there is one time admission fee of amount INR 10,000 and a hostel fee of amount INR 42,000 per year ,however the students admitted through early admit in MSc programme will get a monthly scholarship of INR 5000 per month, institute also provided finacial support of upto 4 lakh for students whose parent income is less tham 1lakh per year by providing calid certificates ,the institute offers various scholrship for all category stuednts every year like professor DV pai scholrship of amount INR 50000 every year whose family income is less than 2lakh and have cpi more than 8 . IN campus students frequently gets mail for participtaion in cognitive science experiments of maximum 25-45 minitues for which they give compensation of INR 150 ,every month some events occurs in the campus like article writing ,singing ,sports related events which have cash prize of minimun 5000.
Campus Life :
Campus life at IIT GN is Good ,The cultural activities are coordinated by cultural council gives better oppurtunity and confidence among students.Over the year the student body has come up with plethora of events and competitons covering wide spectrum of activities including drama ,photography ,art and etc, technical festivals like Amalthea is a annual tech summit which focuses on tech knowledge in the minds of studenst to develop technology gor better need of humans, another is Blithchron 2 days cultutral festival which catalyzes in building talents from various institues across county, Hallabol is all night intra institue sports festival at iit gn. Library here is the window to the world latest info in sciences, engineering ,humanities etc,it provides supports in teaching ,learning, and outreach activities, library has fast growing and broad collections of books ,journals ,magzines both in printed & digital format. Library services have been fully automated & accesible from anywhere.
Hostel Facilities :
IIT GN has 13 centrally air contiditioned hostels and believes in ownership of campusby the students, all hostels are managed by the students through maintenance committee . These hostels have a number of convinences and facilities like shops and eateries, a mini library , gym , student lounge , common sports room, In each hostel a resident caretakers folllows up all routine maintainence issues basis furniture including chair , study table, cot , mattress at regular interval of time , each hostel have mini pantries in each floor which have refrigerators , induction and a microwave . Every day washrooms is cleaned the sweeper and rooms cleaning is done two days in a week . IIT GN has mess facility which is verified by FSSAI & serves nutitious food , the mess menu changes every month with new foods , mess also serves jain food to the students preferring it. The mess also serves special dishes on every festivals and good ocassions.
Admission :
The Admission in IIT Gandhinagar is generally done via IIT JAM exam , one should have rank in iit jam exam under 440 in general category , and upto 650 rank in case of obc category , however iit gandhinagar also offer early admit admission on the basis of written test and interview conducted by institute itself in month of decemeber or january . In all these admission process on should have atleat 55% marks in graduatuion of there respective subjects . IIT Jam exam is conducted every year in month of february , applications process begins from september onward , the level of the iit jam exam and early admit exam is easy if one have good or decent knowledge about the respective subject. Overall admission process is easy .
