NFSU review

Dislikes

  • While the faculty and professor are very good at their respective subjects, they could improve with their placement strategies for students.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The curriculum of my course is specifically made to look at the field of food technology in the direction of forensic science making it unique. The course comes with a specialisation of forensic food analysis which prepares us to bring the world safer food. With the availability and hands on training of analytical instruments, the curriculum prepares the students better for real-time applications and makes it more interesting to dvelve into the field of research. Exams are conducted regularly which include all kinds of activities rather than just the theoretical writing. The difficulty level of examinations in my experience is significantly moderate. 4 sets of examinations are conducted per semester including the end semester examination.

Internships Opportunities :

Students were placed as internship in various companies like mondelez, amul, zydus, Varun beverages, Balaji foods, etc. Students were are given opportunity to work in research in the various institutions like oit gandhinagar. Students were also offered internship in the directorate of forensic science hence giving the students and opportunity to explore the real life cases.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

I am general category student with no reservation and hence couldn't avail any kind of financial aid or scholarship but students with difficulty are offered scholarships based on the merit of the entrance examination or their previous scores. The merit and reservation based scholarship covers all the tution fees of the students. The total fees I paid was an approximate of 220000 for 2 years. The faculty try to provide internship to students with stipend.

Campus Life :

The university has a lot of cultural events and festivals that are conducted in the university. Sone events are, navratri, Holi, sports week etc Library has a wide range of books for various courses overall and are accessible easily. The classrooms are centralised with AC and hence are comfortable. Each classroom has a screen and also a white board. The university is open to students participating in sports and conducts an annual sports meet which has a lot of participation.

Admission :

The eligibility of the course is bachelor's of science/ technology in biotechnology/ biochemistry/ chemistry/ food technology/ dairy technology/ food and nutrition/ agriculture/ ayush etc. The application form for the course in found in the university website, nfsu.in and the application in released every year in the months of April/ may/ June . The application free charges is around 1400 rs INR.

Faculty :

The faculty available are professional in their respective fields and stand are most of the times very supportive of the students unless u get on their bad side, which is the case with most of the teachers anywhere. The faculty available in NFSU are all renowned PhD's with a ton of experience. The faculties try their best to provide the students with best internships possible while it is not the same case with placements. They are readily available at any time for any kind of queries most of the time.

Remarks:

The rules regulations are very strict and also have the narrow thinking. And personally the moto of Gandhi is to manage our selvs own is very weird at the stage where students have lots of burden of study.

Remarks:

This is the college which provides the best possible education in many of the fields taught in the college. It comes on the top 10 lists of many surveys of excellence in teaching. Also the environment of the college is so good it makes the students comfortable and let them be in their zone. And with qualified faculties, this might be a dream place for any aspirant for excellence.

Entrance Preview:

I did not opt for any particular entrance examination but i had biology, physics and chemistry as my subjects in 12th. Appeared for GUJCET and filled up a form which i got from veer narmad south gujarat university which was enrolling students for biotechnology under its university.

Placement Experience:

Placement is not so good in gujarat. Will have to move out of here which was not a case for me. I did my internship from mumbai- tata cancer hospital which was willing to offer me junior fellowship under the guide i worked with but i was not willing to go out of surat.
