  • Canteen food, not much good and didnt have much variety and taste.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is excellent in every way! The course, which I did was of Life Sciences, and it's curriculum was absolutely wonderful! The syllabus had been designed such that it perfectly aligned with the syllabus of various exams, such as CSIR, GATE etc. And also, for the end semester dissertation, our university allowed us to pursue it from any other institute or university if we wish to, and encouraged us to do so. And because of that I did my dissertation research from SLS, JNU, in cancer biology.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee is absolutely minimum, as compared to many other institutes and universities. They also provide INSPIRE scholarship to the one student from every class that scores highest marks in the exams. Although the campus placement is not much great as compared to other institutes like IITs, IISER etc. But, the help and guidance from the faculty and seniors always helps.

Campus Life :

Overall experience in CUG was wonderful! I met all the types of people, whether be good or weird. I made great friends, for life. And I did a lot of trips, Chai sessions, infinite dinner nights etc. Culturally it was an enlightening one. We had functions and events on every occasion, whether it be Ganpati visarjan, Ram Lalla sthapna, doing garba at Navratri or even watching INDIA vs PAK match on big screen in the common hall, with all the students together.

Hostel Facilities :

I lived at girls hostel which was in Infocity, Gandhinagar. The hostel rooms were extremely big and spacious. Also, the facilities were really good. We didn't have mess system there. So, we had to arrange our foods for dinner specially, when we were at hostel. But that wasn't a big deal, because, the place where our hostel was situated, it was in between a whole market. There was every facility provided there. So, in all, everything was good. The only issue was that, we didn't have any cooler or AC for summers, only fans were there. So, just in summers, it was tough staying there.

Admission :

I gave CUET PG exam for Life Sciences Code and later on when the registrations for Central universities started, I registered. So, I did register for Central University of Gujarat as well as Central University of Karnataka. And once the universities published their first merit lists, I got an email from both the universities that I had been shortlisted in the first merit list. So I chose CUG instead of CUK because of 2 reasons, one is that, Gandhinagar is far more safe and better for girls, than any other place right now in India. And other was that, the curriculum of CUG and faculty was really good, which I wanted to have. So, I filled the form, paid the fees for admission and later on for document verification I had to go to Campus offline, for the same.

Faculty :

All the faculty members, specially the science department, are highly educated and qualified. All of them have been to greater institutes for their studies like IISC Bangalore, IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, AIIMS, etc. All of them have great citations and research work going on in their respective laboratories. Also they are very kind and sweet and always approachable.

Remarks:

The rules regulations are very strict and also have the narrow thinking. And personally the moto of Gandhi is to manage our selvs own is very weird at the stage where students have lots of burden of study.

Remarks:

This is the college which provides the best possible education in many of the fields taught in the college. It comes on the top 10 lists of many surveys of excellence in teaching. Also the environment of the college is so good it makes the students comfortable and let them be in their zone. And with qualified faculties, this might be a dream place for any aspirant for excellence.

Entrance Preview:

I did not opt for any particular entrance examination but i had biology, physics and chemistry as my subjects in 12th. Appeared for GUJCET and filled up a form which i got from veer narmad south gujarat university which was enrolling students for biotechnology under its university.

Placement Experience:

Placement is not so good in gujarat. Will have to move out of here which was not a case for me. I did my internship from mumbai- tata cancer hospital which was willing to offer me junior fellowship under the guide i worked with but i was not willing to go out of surat.
