  • I not quite fond of the hostel food. I feel like it's not worth the price we pay.
  • The winter is difficult here. And also the summer.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum is quite good since it includes all kinds of related studies of English literature. And also cuk provides additional courses such as music, foreign languages (German, Spanish, japanese, Arabic). The teaching methods varies from teacher to teacher. However there are activities which helps the students to step up and involve themselves to improve their skills and passion. The timing of exams are valid and suitable. Also the marking system is also reliable.

Internships Opportunities :

I do not have internship since my course does not require that. But other departments like Earth sciences and MBA have internship opportunities. The students are allowed to apply to any companies they prefer and do their required internship there. The students have to submit their tasks in person to the university

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The course fee is comparatively very affordable. The complete course fee might come over to 70000. There are scholarships for students. The university does not charge the students for anything other than the tution fee, hostel fee and mess fee.

Campus Life :

The campus is very peaceful. There's no unnecessary disturbance from the outside. Every department hold their respective programs and festivals. The university is welcoming of every culture and festivals and cooperative. The classroom is well equipped with a screen and wifi. The campus hold extracurricular activities, namely Ankur. Students have access to an open gym and free to participate in any kind of sports activities. The library also have a quite good number of books and journals

Hostel Facilities :

The university have 5 hostels each for girls and boys. The hostels vary from their structure. The room includes a bed and cupboard and a study table along with a chair. The hotel food is avarage. The registration process is smooth and not problematic.

Admission :

I got into CUK by writing cuet exam. The eligibility of my chosen course was above 50 percentage in bachelor's degree. I looked it the details through internet and a crash course group as well. There were many held desks also. The exam level was medium - hard. It was quite challenging. The admission process was smooth.

Other Applied Colleges

Pondicherry University - [PU] | Master of Arts [MA] (English & Comparative Literature)

The campus is beautiful. Since the university provide additional lectures on our own chosen courses like music, foreign languages, and every other subjects, i was interested in it.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well, I always wanted to study history and archaeology. They fascinate me. I was preparing for the CUET PG 2023 when I went through the University of Mysore website. Since I was unable to crack the examination, I applied here as a student. We went through an entrance exam and I was able to join here. The subject is interconnected to all other fields from science to social studies. To ace this field, one has to pass with NET exam. On the other hand also to complete a PhD. There is an institution under ASI that trains students in field work. Back to the department, though teachers and staff are helpful, communication is a problem. It is hard to follow up as they will be speaking in state language. I think if they are accepting students from other states, they should also come to a point of common language for communication. The semester exams are not so difficult. Students must study well and understand the concepts. Previous year question papers also help a lot.

Course Curriculum Overview:

My subject is MA. English. The curriculum comprises of complete history of English Literature along with great poets and their writings. The plus point is that it will help the students to learn about the different writing style along with knowledge of how to interpret the subject matter. The exams are conducted 4 Times for 2 years ie. 4 semesters. Along with these they give assignments to write to test your writing and comprehension skill.

Placement Experience:

Average package of six lakh per annum offered Every year. Students from mass communication and journalism have a plus point of getting into various fields, such as media advertising, public relations, marketing, content, writing, technical writing etc. Every year professionals from different industries come and guide the students and their final years to provide them for their industry experience. The highest package was somewhere around 12,00,000. 90% students get placed every year.

Placements are not as strong if compared to TISS. A few good organizations also come like reliance foundation, pradan and azim premji foundation and FES. Around 90% people get placed every year. My plan after this course is Phd.

Placement Experience:

The companies visit the office in the final year. For Media and Communication Studies program, the companies come mostly for the students of Advertising and Corporate Communication (Specialization 2) rather than Multimedia Journalism (Specialization 1). However, all the students are free to sit for all the companies. Some good brands come up for placements and take students every year. However, the good part is that even if you don't get an opportunity from the campus placement, you will always get an edge because of the university name when you apply to any of the companies. That's especially when you're applying in Karnataka or the Southern region.
