Thriving at IIT Roorkee

  • Pressure: Grades feel like a competition, not my own journey.
  • Fairness: Grading depends on others, not just my learning.

Course Curriculum Overview :

Chemical engineering caught my eye because it mixes my love for physics with the cool "big picture" stuff of chemistry, like figuring out how to make tiny reactions work on a huge scale. That's fascinating to me! Plus, the professors at IIT Roorkee are total rockstars in their field – they really know their stuff.

Internships Opportunities :

IIT Roorkee rocks! Big names like Google, Microsoft, and even Goldman Sachs visit to recruit 3rd-year students. While the chance is awesome, the competition's fierce, leaving talented folks sometimes on the sidelines. Hope they expand their picks soon!

Placement Experience :

Landing your dream job is practically guaranteed here! Over 300 companies visit campus in your final year, and nearly everyone gets placed with awesome salaries. The highest package even hits 2-3 crores every year! So relax, focus on your studies, and get ready to kickstart your career.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The tuition fees might raise some eyebrows, but the college is committed to making education accessible with generous scholarships for financially challenged students (EWS). So, while the price tag initially stings, the support system helps balance it out. Ultimately, it's an investment in your future with strong affordability options.

Campus Life :

Life at IIT Roorkee rocks! Big fests like Thomso (cultural) and Cognizance (tech) bring tons of fun. Need resources? Our giant library, one of India's biggest, has you covered. Classrooms are top-notch with projectors and AC, and there's a club for almost anything you're into - especially tech!

Hostel Facilities :

Dorm life wasn't quite the dream. Packed dorms (thanks to more students!) meant sharing with 2 others. First-year mess food kept things basic. Sign-up wasn't terrible, just dragged on a bit. It's okay, but not mind-blowing.

Admission :

Getting into IIT Roorkee is kinda like a high-score video game! You had to battle it out in the JEE Advanced exam, and your awesome rank unlocked the chance to pick your college on the JOSAA website. It sounds like you navigated that whole process like a boss, which is pretty cool!

The placement shows quantity but not quality, in my batch 60-70% students were placed with a highest package of 5lakh per annum and minimum package of 2.4 lakh. As per fees of college the average package seems low.

Remarks:

I chose this college women institute of technology which is in Dehradun because it is the only government College which is for girls and it gives them technical knowledge. The college is funded by many government schemes which are very beneficial for us. We have different seminars winners from course in other things also to increase our soft skills as well as other skills. Hair in my 4 year experience I have learnt a lot a lot of things. We get free coaching for MTech i.e GATE classes and other employability training programs and that too free of cost.
