Various fests and workshops which are conducted regularly.
Placements are quite good. Various opportunities for internships are also provided

Dislikes

As a city, Kanpur is not a tech hub or a big industrial centre, due to which industry connects at IITK are not that good

Course Curriculum Overview :

The course of Computer Science and Engineering is considered to be one of the most sought after course in IITs. The term exams are quite difficult, with some examinations being of the level higher than JEE advanced examination.

Class Size : 300Course Fees : INR 140000 per year

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The cost to study is roughly INR 2,50,000 annually. There are various scholarships available, but many are subject to minimum family income criteria. There are various external scholarships avaible, many of which are sponsored by alumni of the college.

Campus Life :

The infrastructure at IIT Kanpur is one of the best in the country, with state of the art laboratories and library. There are many clubs in the college ranging from astronomy, photography to programming.

Admission :

Admission is provided through JEE advanced examination. It is a national level entrance examination conducted by IIT JAB. It is considered to be one of the toughest examination at +2 level globally. Details can be found at the official site.

4the year students are eligible to sit for the placements. Placements here are not so good frankly speaking and one who wants a good placement needs to apply for off campus placements. The students can start applying for college placements from 7th semester onwards. Various companies visit for placement opportunities. The highest package was 24L for one year. The percentage of students getting college placements is very low considering the competition in this field. My plans are to join the army, but keeping the engeneering field as a backup.
