EXPLORING THE EXCELLENCE: A REVIEW OF IIIT HYDERABAD

Dislikes

  • i disliked about the curiculum like it is so tough for a new admission to handle such a pressure in their first year like you have quizes mid sem then end sem every month and there are no holiday in between except sunday and festivals
  • other thing would be probably the less campus area

Course Curriculum Overview :

I was allotted this course on the basis of my rank, so it was not much of an option. Plus the ECE course here is better and more interspersed with other courses, rather than other colleges. The faculty-to-student ratio is roughly 1:150. When the courses divide as the semesters progress, the ratio comes up to around 1:30 to 1:10. The faculty are mostly from reputed institutions like Stanford, IITs, Harvard, and MIT. The term exams happen in mid-semester and end-semester. They are generally tougher than the usual college-level benchmark but are usually manageable.

Internships Opportunities :

Everyone is crazy about the coming internships in the coming years and I am also one of them but as I am in UG 1, so I don't think I can get an internship in my 1st semester. There is some talent you need to build through your 3 semesters, at least then you will be eligible for an internship. The companies that came here to provide interns to the 4th sem are JP Morgan, uber, Microsoft, Google, and many more. the average offer they provide interns with a stipend is something around 2 lakh for 3 months I guess. it would be really beneficial for you to have an internship in your initial years as it would provide you with a working environment to implement your ideas and get the best potential from yourself.

Placement Experience :

One is eligible for campus placements from the third year on. Some of the companies to visit are Qualcomm, Microsoft, Google, Nvidia, Uber, Unacademy, and JP Morgan. The highest package offered to the CSE people is 74 lpa and for ECE it would be around 65 lpa but for the MS programme, it would be 102 cr annually from the CSD branch. There is a 100 percent placement ratio.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The tuition fee is the same for each year. Most of the study resources are available on campus to buy/borrow. There are no scholarships for the tuition fee, but a waiver of 25% is applicable for female students. There are, however, various scholarship programs one can avail of on a merit basis while on campus.

Campus Life :

Felicity is the annual techno-cultural fest of IIITH. It is usually conducted at the beginning of the spring semester of each year. The library here is open for all times to all people on campus, except after midnight. It procures new books at the start of every month, and ebooks are available to read with an even bigger database. The classrooms are well-furnished and equipped with the best audio-visual equipment, like projectors, screens, speakers, and mics. They are air-conditioned and have proper ventilation. Attendance is taken via biometric machines. Sports is mandatory for the first two years of college. Along with sports credits, you can explore other extracurricular activities like relay races and night cricket. The student-run Clubs Council maintains and leads all the clubs at IIIT. Site: clubs.iiit.ac.in. The Student Parliament is another student body.

Hostel Facilities :

The room has 2 beds, an almirah, a desk, and a wall shelf. LAN cable is also provided. Room cleaning is done by the hostel staff every 15 days. There are 4 messes in IIIT to choose from, and one can try meals from either. Non-veg option is available as well. The mess quality is fine. The campus is fully residential, so it is mandatory to stay in the hostel.

Admission :

The eligibility for the course is through JEE Mains. However, other channels exist like SPEC, DASA, UGEE, Boards, and Olympiad. The application form, deadline, and other important details can be found at ugadmissions.iiit.ac.in There are no reservation benefits, although female candidates have a 25% reservation via the diversity pool.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I think that most of us the course curriculum was outdated as it is older than the birth of the students According to my understanding I suggest you to update the curriculum based on the current technology and advancement in the industry requirements

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is the old not updated overall since decades many subjects are included which are not practiced in real world. Theory subjects should be removed and practical coding subjects should be included which covers the real world applications.

Remarks:

On my personal experience, I would say that college is very strict and they have closed gate that is not accpectable. Even they will not permit you to leave the campus without the permission from the required faculty.
