Course Curriculum Overview :

The course curriculum in IIT is not that much hectic, but yes the competition is so much to survive in any IIT that it feels sometimes really hard to cover everything. Now talking about the faculty, they are highly qualified and one of the best in the country. The faculty-to-student ratio is somewhat around 1:60, but it varies for different IITs.Professors try their best to make us understand each topic, but yes there are exceptions everywhere. One can't expect that you will not need the help of other resources after listening to the lectures of Prof. Now coming to the term exams, in my college two quizzes are conducted and one mid-term and one end-term examination in one semester, which is not that hectic.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

If you are not financially strong, then don't worry.IITs will provide you fee waiver scholarship if you belong to GEN EWS and other backward classes in which if your: gross family income is <=1lakh... then 100%waiver 1 lakh<=gross family income<=5lakh..then 2/3rd fee waiver. While there is no tuition fee for SC/ST. Moreover, scholarship based on your academic growth and merit is also provided and many other private scholarship exams are also conducted online, through which students can avail them.

Campus Life :

In our college, SRIJAN is the annual cultural fest, which is conducted in the month of February, while the tech fest is Concetto, which is organised in the month of October. Apart from this a Geo-mining fest KHANAN is also conducted in October. All kinds and genres of books are available in the library, which you can issue for free for a month. The sports culture is also really nice here. All kind of good and well-trained sports faculty is here. The annual sports fest PARAKRAM is also conducted in March. Moreover, for extracurricular activities, various clubs are also run by the Gymkhana(student society) of the college. Official dance, singing, art, photography, and videography clubs are there for the overall growth of students.

Admission :

The admission process in any IIT is conducted through JEE Advanced, before that one has to clear the JEE mains exam. The candidates who have cleared this exam will go for JOSAA counselling. The application for JEE mains is released by NTA, most probably in the month of December. The application form for JEE Advanced can be filled out on JEE Advanced's official website after the JEE mains result. Reservation is also provided for different students based on the community they belong to or their medical condition. I got a reservation in the GEN EWS quota.

Placement Experience:

As a student of the 4th year program, one can be eligible for placements after 6th sem or by passing 3rd year and after 4th sem/2nd year, students of 3rd year program are eligible for placement processes. almost 150 companies had visited this year and around 500 students are placed in many companies like cognizant, byjus, TCS, Deloitte etc. maximum package offered is 11 LPA and the average package is around 3.5-4 LPA. on a personal note, I want to pursue MTech after BTech, so for me, these placement record somehow not matters but if someone wants to go for higher studies, this college is best suited for them as because it provides all necessary things by which you can easily get into top IIITs.

Placement Experience:

In BIT Sindri, placements are good. In my college students are eligible from 3rd year to sit on-campus placement. They can also go for internships from the first year itself. Around 50+ companies visited in the year 2020. This is a little bit less due to covid 19. Some of the companies that visit regularly are Tata Steel, Vedanta, Aditya Birla group, TCS, TCS digital, Ericsson, etc. Highest package is 13 lakhs p.a being offered by Tata steel and the average package is around 6 lakhs p.a. Here around 50 to 60 percent of students are placed each year. In 2024 I will get my degree. My future plans are that I will give GATE exam. I want to be in under 100 rank so that I could get a job in PSUs or get MTech admission in IITs.
