- The college faculty members are very disciplined and helpful .
- The grading system is very good and better than many college of the entire state.
Dislikes
- A placement cell is yet to be created which is a slightly inconvenient.
- The career counseling cell is not that much active right now as it is not used very frequently.
Course Curriculum Overview :
With a keen interest in the subject, I chose geography as my honours subject in the college as it's department of geography is renowned in the entire state for it's good teaching methods and producing good results. The faculty of the geography department is one of the best in the college and includes teachers with PHDs and masters degrees. The teachers are very disciplined and best in their fields. They prepare students not only for the near future but for the far future too. They share their knowledge at the best and help students to score good marks by helping them understand the concepts from the base. Two exam are help every semester. The 1st term exam are held after 2 months and end terms are held after 4 months. The new semester starts immediately after the end term exam. The exams are quite easy to pass.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fee is a one-time payment for a year which is around Rs 7000. The college provides rs 1450 every semester to the students for the basic expenses. The college also provides ISHAN UDAY SCHOLARSHIP for students with a yearly income below 5 lakhs. The college also provides financial assistance for students struggling to pay their fees.
Campus Life :
The environment in the college is very lively and cheerful. Every year the freshmen are welcomed with a "Fresher's" conducted by the student's union body members along with many festival such as Saraswati Puja and shankardev tithi throughout the year. The collage library includes around 30000 books of every subjects along with various everyday newspapers and magazines which can be read in the study area above the library. The college alao provides a digital room and projectors for the better teaching. The students of the college are provided by many privileges to participate in the various compititions such as debate, poetry writting, story writing, quizzes, etc conducted by other colleges along with ours. The students of the college are very active in participating for extra curricular activities with the college providing a good stage.
Admission :
The application form was filled out online in the college portal and then a date was given for the admission offline. Two dates were given for the admission. The 1st day was the admission for the students scoring above 70%. The single girl children of a family or BPL students were given free admission. The reserved seats for the ST, SC, and OBC along with other reserved categories were around 20%. The highest score among the students of the batch 2022 was 97% and were given the opportunity for free admission. The lowest score of the batch was 54%. The process was easy and the student union members along with the teachers were present to help the parents and the students for a smooth administration.
