Remarks :

For my Master's program, the eligibility criteria were 60% for getting into the postgraduation course and I had to apply through the universities website and fill up all the information. After completing all the information I had to go through a personal interview with the psychology department HOD. Once the personal interview was over I was informed after a week that I have achieved admission to the university. Reservation is available for minorities and scholarships are also provided based on financial requirements and merit.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose the course MSc Counselling Psychology as I have always been interested in the field of psychology specifically dealing with counseling individuals and providing intervention. The university psychology department includes 5 faculty members and each class has around 25 to 30 students. The university faculty have completed postgraduation and most teachers have completed their Ph.D. program. The university exams and assignments were timely held. The examinations were mildly difficult.

Internships Opportunities :

Students got the opportunity to attend 2-3 internships during their study program and could attend online and offline internships with hospitals, early intervention centers, and rehabilitation centers where students get the opportunities to train with professionals.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee structure is 30000-50000 for bachelor's and master's programs. Scholarship and financial opportunities are provided for students. Students barely get job placements in universities. It would be better for the university to increase its placement opportunities.

Campus Life :

The campus life is filled with various activities and study opportunities such as NAAC visits, Youth Camp programs, annual functions, team building programs, and orientation programs for students and new faculty members of the university. Students have the opportunity to attend farewell and fresher's programs. Campus life can be enjoyed better by staying in the hostel and enjoying all activities. Most amenities are provided in the classroom but bathrooms are mostly dirty. Sports and extracurricular activities are available for students to enjoy.

Other Applied Colleges

Kristu Jayanti College - [KJC] | Master of Science [M.Sc] (Psychology)

I wanted to go for a focused course in counselling psychology and hence did not opt for this course

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is at par with top institutions and often we find questions from class appearing in prestigious exams such as CSIR-NET, GATE , JEST. Real world relevance is less if only the curriculum is considered but often professors suggest various materials that helps in building recent knowledge and help immensely for doing research works.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The reason behind choosing this course is my deep interest in research area as our department shows good result in research domain .The curriculum provides us some topics that are to be deeply understood like we are imagining those topics in 3-D way and that will helps us in future aspects. The thing that need to be changed in our curriculum is course pattern itself because it lacks familiarity with CSIR - NET syllabus. The exams are held in the month of June and December and the difficulty level of the exam is from moderate to hard
