Eligibility for admission in IIT Delhi is students have to qualify to jee mains first The cut-off for qualify jee mains (approximately) Gen-90%ile OBC-75%ile SC-60%ile ST-50%ile PWD-1%ile After qualifying jee main study have to give jee advanced on the basis of advanced rank IIT colleges are allotted The application form for jee mains is on nta or jee mains website while for jee advanced application form students have to visit jee advance website The tuition fee for sc/St is waived completely They have to pay the hostel mess and other charges The admission process is completely fine in my opinion
Course Curriculum Overview :
Honest opinion on the basis of my advanced rank I decided to choose the best IIT so I got IIT Delhi Electrical Engineering. I also do have a quiet interest in electrical and electronics. In the first year, all students have to study the same course so the class strength is much larger Usually, so they allow groups to students so that each faculty gets around 100-150 students After first-year student studies their core branches in which strength are also around 100-150 students Faculties are highly qualified but some faculties lack teaching skills their knowledge is very wast but they somewhat lack the skill lectures to deliver to students while some faculties are gems/excellent Exam always happens on time Toughness varies in exams some are easy to pass while some are really difficult like passing criteria in that courses are 15-20% overall
Internships Opportunities :
IITs itself provide summer internship stipend are like 40k per month beside this many companies come for an internship like Google Microsoft's annual internship salary is around 10 lacs Roles offered are data science analyst, software engineer etc
Placement Experience :
From 5th semester students are eligible for internship and in 4th-year students are eligible for placement The number of companies visited last year was around 1200 And 1000+ jobs were offered to students The highest package is provided by companies like Google, Microsoft, oracle, apple, Amazon etc and the highest package is nearly 2cr per annum last year The average package is around 12 lacs provided by many companies like Samsung, reliance etc Almost 80-85 % of students get placed on campus placement My plans after completing my degree are either go in it sector or in my core sector as I'm in my 3rd sem, I'm exploring all the things so right now I'm not pretty much sure what career option I'm going with after pursuing my degree
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Fees structure in IIT Delhi: Tuition fee per semester General/obc -1 lacs (family income>5 lacs) General/obc-33k(family income 1-5 lacs) General/obc -o(family income less than 1 lacs SC/St/pwd-0(fee waived) Hostel mess fee -40k per semester (for all students) Fee hike Is really a bad thing because fees are already much high that students have to go for education loan Scholarships: On basis of academic, there are many scholarships for all students but you have to be in the top 5% of students or cgpa >9.5 I got a scholarship. Pvt scholarship like fee scholarships provide 40k per year to financially weak students (eligibility annual income less than2.5 lacs) For sc/St students national scholarship is there
Campus Life :
Rendezvous is an annual fest which is north India's largest fest. It's 3-4 days long many celzcome to perform. Tryst is the tech fest of IIT Delhi. The library is very big you can find every book there. every week new hundred of books are added Sports and extracurricular activities are also very good trainers for every sport is there Every year intra hostel competition is arranged and inter IIT competition is also. Many social groups are also there like NCC NSS
Hostel Facilities :
Hostels are quite good for students to get sharing room, two students in a room Rooms have an identical set of two beds, two Almirahs, two cupboards, two study tables, a fan, mirrors Meal quality in mess is not as good as we expect food in our home. sometimes you have to eat in the canteen because the mess meal is really that bad sometimes Hostels are allotted to students randomly there's no option to choose specific hostel affordability is good 12 k per semester is quite good but you have to compromise with your roommate sometimes. you have to make sure You are not disturbing him while he's sleeping or studying
