Remarks :
First, you have to give JEE Main exam. If you got a good rank then you can take admitted to VNIT based on your JEE Main scores, followed by JoSSA Counselling. You can find the application form, fees, and dates on the website unit.ac.in. If you belong to SC or ST category then you will get a 100 percent fee remission. For OBC category students there are conditions like for income less than 1lakh >> Full fee remission, income between 1-5 lakh >> 50 percent fee remission, and for more income more than 5 lakh, then full fees you have to pay. The admissions process is very easy. You must come to college, here you will get a mentor who will tell you everything about documents and processes. He/she will remain with you till your admission process.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I had chosen Chemical Engineering because while doing JEE preparations, I got interested in thermodynamics and fluid mechanics. Faculty: student ratio is 1:100 But classes are designed in such a way that you will get everything that the faculty teaching you. Faculties are highly qualified. Also, some are in industrial projects. And some are contributing to ISRO. Your each semester duration will be of 4 months. In that 2 sessional exams of mostly 15 marks and the last endsem of 60 marks will be there. You Will get t sufficient time to study and for other curricular activities. If you JUST attend daily classes you will get good marks.
Internships Opportunities :
Students are applying for many research and development internships and industrial internships. Some are doing in noncore industries also like Fractal, Siemens, and ITC. While some are doing Core internships in ONGC, MPCL, etc. Some students are doing a project under college professors.
Placement Experience :
After 3rd-year students became eligible for campus placements. Most of the time, students who interned in the company will get a PPO(pre-placement offer). For chemical engineering, so many companies visited like ExxonMobil, Deloitte, Sun Pharma, Hindustan Unilever, and many more. This year(2022) highest package in the core is 18 lakh and the average package is 6.5 lakh. In the chemical department placement is 100 percent. I will do my MTech in Chemical Engineering.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Most fees are the same for each semester. There is not so much increase in fees. For scholarship If you are from Maharashtra then you can apply for MAHADBT Scholarship otherwise you can go for College Fee Remission. As I am currently in 3rd year, we are getting internships with stipends like 35k - 50k. Some are doing an internship in ONGC.
Campus Life :
The annual fest of VNIT is "Aarohi", Central India's Largest Cultural Festival. This is one of the best events I can say, it has 20 sub-events like ala dance, rhythm divine, etc. AXIS is the annual technical festival of VNIT, consisting of many events, guest lectures, workshops, and exhibitions that provide opportunities for students to enlighten their bright inquisitive minds. This college is having a huge library where you will get all your academic books. You just have to issue that book and then it will circulate in our friend's group. Here classrooms are also well equipped. Most of the professors will teach from the projector. The college is having a sports complex where various sports activities are carried out such as badminton, basketball, cricket, football, and lawn tennis. Also having a well-equipped gym.
Hostel Facilities :
In and 2nd year you will get a shared room with your friend but in the 3rd and 4th years, you will get your room. College provides you with a chair, study table, bed, and almirah. The food quality of the mess is good. You will get three times Chicken curry /Paneer in a week. The registration process for the hostel is very easy. You can do it online while reporting to college or you can do it in college itself. There will be always rooms left for extra students. If you don't want to stay in a hostel, then you can opt for outside. But it will cost you more.
