Remarks :
Admission takes place on the basis of JEE Advanced scores. For Electrical, cutoff was about AIR 600 last year for general category. For OBC, it was about 2400. Admissions are managed entirely by JoSSA. On their website, we have to fill our choices of courses in different NITs/IITs and IIITs, just after the JEE Advanced exam.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I choose this course, because it is highly ranked engineering course in Global rankings. Student: Faculty ratio is about 1:20. Professors and TAs have to complete their PhDs or Masters before applying for the teaching. Term exams are there each month and they are quite difficult.
Placement Experience :
Placements are really good here. IIT grads are highly demanded in multinational tech giants. Most of the students who apply for placements get placed in first 1-2 days of placement season. Highest packages go as high as 2 crores and lowest can be mere 10 lakhs. This year, 60 students got packages over 1 crore.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
Tuition fees is 1 lakh per semester for Btech and MTech programs. Fee waivers are provided by Institute based on family income. For students having family income less than 1 lakh per annum,100% fee waiver is there. I am 1st year student, and hence, not doing any job.
Campus Life :
Our annual fest is Rendezvous, which is Asia's largest cultural fest. It generally held in April every year. Almost every book is available in college's library. Classrooms are fully air conditioned, fire proof, with 2-3 projectors(in every class room) and each of them is capable of holding 300 students at a time. Any sport can be played here, all facilities are available.
Hostel Facilities :
Rooms are not really good. A ceiling fan, lamp, single bed, study table, almirah, chair, shelf etc. are provided in every room. Meal quality is good but menu remains same for about 2-3 months. Hostel facility can be opted at the time of admissions.
