Insights of BHU campus

Remarks :

For admission one needs to clear both JEE (MAIN) & JEE (ADVANCED). In JEE (MAINS) out of 360 marks although cutoff fluctuates, for appearing in JEE (ADVANCED) one needs to be in nearly top 20%ile. In JEE (ADVANCED) there's individual cutoffs for each of the three subjects (Maths, Physics & Chemistry) and ranklist is released based on scores and JOSAA counseling takes place for allocation of streams of engineering based on ranks.

Course Curriculum Overview :

I chose civil engineering because I had an interest in the structural design of structures. I was fascinated by the idea of designing/ building high-rise towers and bridges. Now I feel very proud after designing them and watching them being approved for implementation. The faculty-student ratio is quite good and better compared to the rest of the government engineering institutes and I'll approximate it to 23% Minimum qualification is of Ph.D. and most of the professors are international Ph.D. holders. Mid-term examinations take place in the last week of Feb and last 8-10 days and end-term examinations take place in the last week of April. BHU is known for its lite academics so no such difficulty in passing exams.

Internships Opportunities :

Intern hiring begins in August for pre-final year students and Firms keep visiting campus all year long. Some are open to all branches and some are branch specific. Roles offered are Data scientist, Software Development engineer, Product Management, Full stack developer, Analyst etc Name of the firms includes De shaw, google, goldmann sachs, Microsoft, Uber, Codenation, Adobe, Flipkart, Amazon, Nutanix and many more. Companies conduct coding rounds/provide assignments and students are shortlisted for interviews.

Placement Experience :

Campus placements happen in the second last semester of the program in December. 200+ companies visited campus and made 1300+ offers. Highest package was of 2.04Cr pa while the average package was 20lpa. Percentage of students who registered for placements and got placed was over 90.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fee hike is based on central government policies. MCM (merit cum means) a UG student gets a minimum of 1000/month for 10 months per academic year. For dual degree program students the scholarship is valid until the 4th year only as after that there are provisions of stipend/TAships.

Campus Life :

SPARDHA is our annual sports fest celebrated with an array of 20+ sports with participation from all across India conducted in late October. KASHIYATRA is our annual socio-cultural fest held in January consisting of a variety of events and pronites. TECHNEX is our annual and Asia's oldest Techno management fest held in February. A total of 36 huge libraries are available on campus maintaining a wide variety of books and journals.

Hostel Facilities :

Rooms are quite spacious for double seater accommodation and are well ventilated. Water cooler at every corner of every floor of the hostel. Rooms are equipped with 2 almirahs, 2 beds, 2 tables, and 2 chairs. Food in hostel messes is just awesome covering the taste of North and South India and options for veg/non-veg thrice a week. The hostel is allotted to every student and the mess fee per sem is 12000/-

Course Curriculum Overview:

The subject of Biotechnology is of great importance and is very new and interesting too. The subjects offered are relevant and insightful as they offer knowledge on all aspects of the field. The curriculum is in correspondence to the syllabus of entrance exams like GATE making the preparation easier. We have exams every 4 months. The schedule is decent but there are lesser gaps than required between exams. The practical exams are sometimes conducted in the gaps between the exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because there is too much scope in computer science in future and this college gives us good placement. Mid and end terms are timely mid-term are easy but end terms are hard to gain marks but checking is lenient

The one thing Galgotias is known for is, its placement and almost every student gets a job at the end of their graduation. there are around 400+ companies with several offers and the college also suggests and gets the student to enroll in many off-campus placement tracks to get the high package. the highest package is around 40 - 50 LPA. currently, I'm also doing the Cognizant placement track which is off-campus. of 6.75lpa.
