Entrance Preview :

UGC-NET, GATE and All India level ISM Entrance Test conducted by Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad followed by Interview

Course Curriculum Overview :

Ph.D course curriculam is fully desgined for research programme. As per UGC direction, in first year student have to clear 4 compulsory paper related to research area student opted so far. A Doctoral Scrutiny Committee will check the progress report of student before commencing of each semester. Student stipend/fellowshio will discontinue if progress report is not at per Institute norms.

Internships Opportunities :

Yes, this institute provides internship to the student at various level. B.Tech/M.tech/M.Sc. level student may get the scholarship if his performance deserve for it. Outsider student may also get internship if they approach for it.

Placement Experience :

Placement of IIT(ISM) Dhanbad is excellent, specially students from petroleum department get highest package around the world. Others department students also get their dream jobs as well. Beside campus placement students also crack prestigious examination like UPSC Civil services, IES, Bank PO and other competitive examination.

College Events :

Like every engineering institution, IIT(ISM) Dhanbad students also celebrate various events like: sports meet, cultural fest, technical fest. Beside this institute level fest, each department has their own society which allow students to organize fest as per their department expertise.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fee structure is very lucrative and designed for both category of students. Financial weaker students may get some extra privilege with learn and earn scheme. Some scholarship for meretricious students is also available. Beside students may approach DST for scholarship.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facility is outstanding. Mess are hygienic and mess menu is designed by the students group itself. If any student is not happy with mess menu the they can approach to warden for modification. Final year and PG/PhD students get single room and other may get room on twin-sharing basis.

External Expense : Rs.2000 - Rs.4000

Exam Structure :

Exam structure is very much simple and equivalent that followed by various IIT level institution. In first and second year B.tech/M.Tech/M.Sc. students have to clear 5 compulsory theory and 4 compulsory Lab. papers. Beside this in last year students have to submit summer internship report as well.

Admission :

First of all need to clear/pass the fellowship examination conducted by various MHRD/AICTE like UGC-NET, AICTE New Delhi followed by Interview conducted by IIT(ISM) Dhanbad. If student doesn't have any valid UGC-NET/GATE score then he have to appear for All India level entrance examination conducted by IIT(ISM) Dhanbad itself.

Faculty :

As the IIT(ISM) Dhanbad itself fall under best institution of India, thus faculty level is also equally very important. Here faculty standard are very strong and always helpful to their students with strict discipline and code of conduct. Faculty Google Scholar report and citation record of their research paper shows the quality/knowledge of faculty.

6th sem you are eligible for campus placement and interview mostly all the students are placed in the government sector and private sector due to high demand and low students ratio. The higher package is 9-14 lakh per annum in 2017 data. My plan after geeting degree to do jobs in research sector

It is one of the best institute in India specialy in Geosciences subjects. Teaching quality of faculties are good enough. Research quality institute is also not bad. Software which has been useful for the respective Scholars are provided by the department.

Perfect for PhD

Admission:

The students have to go go through a cutoff as the the admission is merit based. Students who are good in academic and have scored well in their Masters program are qualified for applying. When I applied I found that the admission was not as easy as I thought. You need to have really good marks to get in.

Placement Experience:

No the college does not have any placements of job opportunities inside the campus but the professors prepare the students for internships and interviews so that they can do good in outside world and easily get jobs.

The procedure to take admission to PhD in the college is very straight. A person needs to give the entrance test conducted by the government of India every year. Then on the basis of interview and merit this Institute take students.
