BITS Goa- A wonderful experience

Remarks :

In BITS Pilani, we are given seats based on the score of BITSAT, we have no reservations in BITS Pilani. There are many courses offered in BITS Pilani on 3 campuses around the country and 4th campus in Dubai along with B.E., B. Pharma and dual degrees. The admission process is a basic counselling process where we fill in our choices and wait for the results (seats are allotted according to our marks). There are around 5 rounds of counselling in which seats may or may not get upgraded. You will have to provide all the necessary documents like the 12th mark sheet, aadhar card etc for verification.

Course Curriculum Overview :

The electronics branch has a very good placement record in BITS Pilani. Although the course is considered to be tough. But if you are willing to study, you can touch skies with this degree. The teachers are very cooperative, along with professors we have teaching assistants which makes it easy to clear doubts and understand concepts. Exams were done with an online proctoring system with mics and cameras ON which made it really difficult for cheaters to cheat in exams. The exams difficulty is pretty good and you can score in them only if you have paid attention in class.

Internships Opportunities :

Bits Goa offers you internship opportunities two times in 4 years. Once after 2nd year and once in 4th year. There are many companies which tied up with BITS for internships. Students can choose these companies based on their CGPA and their branch. Most of the students work under the senior employees of the company and gain industrial/office experience. The company may or may not provide money for internships but the experience you gain is above all the money you get from internships.

Placement Experience :

BITS Pilani Goa has one of the best placements all over the country. The average package offered here is 16 LPA whereas the highest domestic package is 45 LPA and the highest overseas package is 1.2 crores PA. Dream companies like Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia etc visit our college and the placement percentage of our college is 100%(around 900 students in a batch). Students avail placement opportunities from 4th year, 1st and 2nd semester both.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

The fees of this college are pretty high compared to other colleges. Its approximately 2.5 lakhs per semester excluding hostel fees. But students get many scholarships here, many alumni provide scholarships for different causes. The college itself gives 2 types of scholarship, Merit scholarship- For the 1% toppers of the batch, Merit cum need scholarship- For the 1% toppers of the batch whose parents' fees is less than 12 lakh( may change from year to year). Roughly many students get some or the other kind of scholarships.

Campus Life :

BITS Goa conducts India's second largest college fest WAVES. It also conducts various tech and sports events like Spree and Quarks. There are almost clubs and departments for every field you can imagine, from competitive coding to web development, social work to the Music club, we have a club for almost everything. Every Fest and club is being run by students only. We can gain a lot of experience by being on the organising committee.

Placement Experience:

Final students are eligible for placements. Companies such as turtle mint, findem, Nokia, IFB, Samsung, Adani power, HDFC Bank, Tesco, Upskill, ONGC, Jio, and many more. Last year almost everyone got placed. Average package is 10 LPA. This year though placements were not as expected because of economic depression. Even after the placements, lay offs have become common. Hence to cope up with the competition we need to keep upskilling.

Placement Experience:

The placements have been quite decent and have had 100% placements in the past. The average comes to be a bit average but the highest package so far might be above 44LPA. The main branchea company hire students from are CSE ECE and EEE. The number of students getting placed from CSE and ECE are very good and have good salary packages around 10LPA
