Alagappa university though located in far south districts Sivaganga of Tamil Nadu, still this university is reckoned with as one of the finest educational institutions founded by the late Philanthropy Dr. Alagappa Chettiyar for its relentless dedication in the service of providing quality education to millions of students at low cost.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The electives are based on the main subject chosen for research and my area of research is FDI in multi brand retail. My course work was Retail Policies and Strategies and Retail Management.
Placement Experience :
Since it is renowned state university there are many prestigious companies visiting the campus to recruit directly and it is a continual process where the students have the benefit of exposing their skills to multiple companies which brings variety of employment opportunities so as to choose whichever the employment opportunity best suits them.
College Events :
There are variety of events celebrated through out the year such as the The Founders Day, Convocation Day, Independence Day, Cultural s Day are some of the important events at university level and there are many events conducted by each and every departments through out the year at different levels.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
There are many welfare and scholarship schemes available for students who can claim through the university. Scholarships available for backward and scheduled community students who can claim respective scholarships based on the provision of community certificates.
Campus Life :
The campus of the university is sprawl on a very huge land accounting to almost 300 acres of land with full of natural atmosphere built around the buildings accommodating class rooms of various departments, hostels and administrative blocks. The whole campus is located amidst hundreds of trees, plants and gardens such that the campus is enriched with a pleasant atmosphere and ecologically stable landscape.
Hostel Facilities :
There are separate hostel for men and women students. All the hostels are equipped with all the necessary amenities and facilities to cater to the students comfortable accommodation and food requirements. The hostels are well guarded and guided by able people and most of the member of the administrative mechanism of the hostels for both men and women are teachers from various departments.
Alumni/Alumna :
Alumni network is very robust and given the technological support enabled by smart phones and electronic communication methods, the contacts among the students present and past is very active. There are frequent programs organised to gather alumni of the university most of whom are volunteers in serving the cause of the noble activities of the university in whatever the ways possible by them.
Faculty :
Faculty of different departments have specialised qualities and each faculty is subjected to performance reviews based the standards prescribed by the Nation Board of Accreditation (NBA). NBA is an accrediting body in the country which sets parameters that the university strives to achieve through excellence and is evaluated in the subsequent year by comparing its performance with the given standard parameters.
