About Thiagarajar College
Thiagarajar College Madurai was established in 1947 with an aim to serve the society by providing affordable quality higher education to all. It is an autonomous government-aided institution which is affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University. The college is accredited with ‘A’ grade by NAAC and has been ranked 18th in NIRF 2023 Rankings among top colleges in India.
The college offers 25 undergraduate courses while 15 postgraduate courses. It also offers PhD & M.Phil. courses in various specializations. Some of the courses are government aided and others are self-financed. In total 512 students were successfully placed at different companies in 2019. - Staff gives very good coaching so that students can easily face their exams better.
- The internship process is great here. Companies like ZOHO, TRINGAPPS, TCS, CTS, and so on.
Dislikes
- Lots of biotechnological companies came to our college, but they offer a lower package to undergraduate students - only 1 lakh per annum. However, we have a minimum guaranteed job.
- My opinion on campus life provided by my college is a little bad, and the package offered by them is low. They only offer around 10,000 to 15,000 per month.

Admission:
The admission process was simple enough to consider the UG semester (all 5 semesters) and that the eligibility of the Course required that the aggregation of Part III courses should be above 85. The application form was given via email to the applicant, which directed to website affliated with the college to fill 10th,12th, UG marks necessary. The application fees was not necessary and the application date was within the last week of March. There was no conduct of exams. It was direct interview with the faculty after selection of the grade based on the application. The admission process felt very rushed so it could be detailed and slow. Along with the rush up, the admission process was not clear enough for other parents nor their children, which cost time to explain in real time.

The student must have 12th pass with 70% or above. I found the application form with one of my relative. This college offers a great opportunity for future basis with high next level technological experience. Exam and every student is focused well

The exam are been conducted once in two months duration, the internal exam question papers are been designed by oru course teaching ataffs and the external exam's question papers are designed by other college staff and valuation is also done by the external staffs. Areas for Improvement The water dispenser should be properly maintained and should be covered sometimes the water dispenser can be opened from the top it must be fixed The wifi connection is very poor that must be fixed

The application process for all the courses is conducted in offline mode. For UG courses, candidates must have passed HSC from a recognized institute with the concerned subject. The selection of all the courses Is done on the marks scored in the qualifying examination.

The admission was tough. You can't expect the college which is in the top 10 in Tamilnadu to be easy in the admission process. Try to get a high cut-off as you can. I took 185.5 and got my CSE course somehow through TNEA Counselling.

Eligibility of course is you should have studied major with computer science-related courses example B.Sc. in computer science/ IT/BCA. The Application is available online. The application fee is Rs 50 for aided and 200 for self-financed.

- Even though the hostel food is good for some day it turned flavorless after some months...

The process of admission is online via the College portal. After the HSC results, we can apply for up to 15 days. Reservations are fairly followed. We can download our selection list via the college portal and the management send an email too.
