Great college for space and aviation enthusiasts

Remarks :

Possibility of free education with stipend for books, top research facilities and scientist faculties. Newly developed students complex and best hostel and mess facilities amongst tier 1 government colleges

Course Curriculum Overview :

Curriculum is tough and rigoruous, tailored specifically for ISROs needs. Faculties are from other Tier 1 universities or ISRO scientists. It is difficult to score high in exams but easy to pass. Very good student to faculty ratio, fully equipped classrooms and labs

Internships Opportunities :

Internship can be picked in companies, but it is preferable to do in campus because marks will be better. No stipend for in college internships. Projects in CFD etc. and other research opportunity based on learning and understanding cutting edge research

Placement Experience :

Placement directly to ISRO for almost half the students due to bond during admission, rest of the students are helped by the placement board with usual recruiters like TCS, LnT and space startups Satsure. Lot of students pursue higher education if ISRO does not recruit

Fee Structure And Facilities :

Fees 48400rs is less in comparison to IITs, but it is subject to change from 2021. 100% scholarship (including hostel and mess) is provided if semester gpa is above 7.5 along with extra 3000rs stipend for academic and personal use books provided by the MoS, Govt. of India. Campus placement to ISRO for 60-70 students in batch of 140 depending on vacancies, other campus placement opportunities from numerous space startups like Satsure etc.

Campus Life :

Best library in the country, every relevant book and journal is available - fiction is limited but a decent collection, Annual tech fest- Conscientia in Feb-March, great footfall and amazing exhibits and competitions, Annual cultural fest- Dhanak in October, nothing to write home about. Sports are limited to intra collegiate competitions and some friendlies with neighbouring colleges (IISER) , newly built SAC hasnt been opened, but ready for use, regular clubs like CSE club, quiz club, literature club, Aero and nanosat etc.

Hostel Facilities :

Compulsory on campus stay for every student. Hostels are very clean and in new condition, room and bathroom cleaning is available on request, hostel managers are prompt to respond- 2 in a room accommodation for UG. Mess food is bearable in comparison to other college mess food. Kerala food counter is also available on booking for free which gives faculty-level food but need to be quick to book.

Admission :

The students become eligible for the campus placements in the 6th semester. The average students getting placed in the mechanical department are about 30%. My plan after completing my mechanical engineering degree is to go for masters in business administration

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum contains a vast area of nursing aspects and they include OSKI as a new component of the nursing curriculum which prepares as well enough to face the job interviews ahead. But the time limit is so short that we find it difficult to complete the syllabus on time. As the syallabus has changed to semester system we are expected to write exams more frequently but that is good as it helps as to improve our writing skills.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Architecture is a tough and time taking course, the syllabus fine in the first three years but later on it becomes hectic. Maybe the syllabus can be reduced and I feel that five years is too long for architecture degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course mainly because of the job opportunities. There is plenty of teaching and non-teaching staff in the college. All the teaching staff has Mastered nursing and all are very talented teachers. The teaching method is lecturing and av aids are also used by the teachers like projectors. The exams are conducted after the completion of each unit. It's an average tough exam to score good marks. The only problem is that exams will be conducted daily and the personal behavior of some staff may vary from person to person.

No campus placement is provided by college because it is a government college. After getting degree I planned to practice in Kerala high court and also wants to attempt judicial service examination. I also planned to join LLM at central University or in Canada. In Canada there are many opportunities for LLB graduates.
