Remarks :
The good side of studying here is, since it is located close to a reserve forest, we the zoologists get to have a very good interaction with nature. But it is located very far from the city and often we don't have a good network connection. The teachers are very kind and caring. Usually, form fillup for admission starts from the month of June/July. Fee payment and other necessary document submission and verification are done at the main campus located at Tapesia gardens. If you love nature and want to stay connected to it, this is the best university to choose. For any queries, you can check the official website or can follow their page in facebook.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I had chosen this course because I did my bachelorette degree in Zoology and the university provides a very good environment for Zoologists. There are 9 teachers in the department and 43 students in our class which gives a rough faculty: student ratio of 1:5 which is quite good. Most of the faculty members are PhD holders and are NET/GATE qualified. we have 2 class tests and a final semester exam for each semester. The level of the questions are mixed type. it is designed in such a way that every student can pass the exam at once.
Placement Experience :
I haven't heard of any campus placement of students enrolled in M.Sc. Zoology course. I have heard students from Engireeng branches and Mass com etc have got some chances in companies. The placement cell might have more info regarding this topic.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
For first-year fees taken is almost 1 lakh and for the second year, it is almost 80 thousand including admission fees. Which is less in comparison to other private universities of Assam. They even provide scholarships to financially weak students and also extremely meritorious students each semester. Also, the first 5 students with an 85+ percentage in their bachelor's degree get a one-time concession of15000 rupees at the time of admission. Also, the top scholars of every class in every semester get an award of 1000 rupees.
Campus Life :
We have a number of festivals starting from music festivals every now n then, Holi, Christmas, annual sports week in the month of March, general freshers after all the new students join, farewell, convocation in September last or October first week, and many more on the list. We have a pretty big library with lots of books and journals. Also, it provides laptops with free internet connections to students. Classrooms are spacious with free wifi connection and fully digitalized. All the classes are provided with projectors. We often have a lot of sports tournaments and also friendly matches with students from other universities. We have a number of clubs like eco-club, sports club, art club, music club, dance club, photography club, etc to name a few. The students are very active.
Interview Experience :
One of the faculty members takes an interview with the candidate to check their basic knowledge on the topic they have already studied. Basic questions from cell structure, genetics, immunology, etc were asked to most of us. I didn't prepare for this round. All the answers that I gave were from the previous knowledge I had.
