Excellent college.

Remarks :

The college has mostly always been among the top 10 best colleges in India. It's the best because of education quality, placements and best inastructure.

Entrance Preview :

IIT JEE. I had option to take admission in other IITs but took admission in IIT BHU bacause of lower education fees. At the same time it was near to my home town and the placement in this college is very good.

Course Curriculum Overview :

It's very good, but at that time less focus was there on research.Electrical department so many machines that rarely any institutions could have. Teachers were very qualified, most of them had studied out of India, some of them were writers of many books. They were all very qualified and good. Classrooms were very big, I could say that it was overall the best experience anyone could have.

Internships Opportunities :

I think it does not provide internship but I'm not very sure. As I studied B.Tech. I may not be the best person to tell this. Any M.Tech. students would be better able to tell this.

Placement Experience :

The placement is just one of the best in india. During my time, the placement was the best among all IITs. Most of the companies were visiting the college every year. Rarely anyone was not placed in any company at the end of the placement. Many people were going out of college with 2-3 offers in hand. Many people were applying for GRE or GMAT, they took admission in best colleges in US.

College Events :

There were many events celebrated in college, some of the events were at college level and some at state level and some at country level. Big companies were sponsering the events. The college has many very big ground where these events could be organized. Many students from other colleges were participating in our college, it was for their pride to come to IIT BHU.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

The fee structure at that time was least in India. I needed to pay Rupees 2800/- only for the whole year, this was including hostel charges as well. I was getting Rs. 3600/- per annum as merit cum mean scholarship, so overall the fees was in negative. Only expense was mess expense which was Rs. 800/- per month almost. Overall my average monthly expense was Rs. 1300-1500 per month.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Yes, Merit cum mean scholarship was provided to students from UGC which was almost equal to the fees of the college. Also SC/ST students were offered zero fees almost.

Campus Life :

Campus life was amazing. Girls were almost 3 to 5% of the total. So many options of extracurricular activities. You can imagine, there are 2 of my batch mates doing great in Bollywood. There was Karate classes, Gym facility, swimming pool facilities etc.

Hostel Facilities :

The hostel facility was the best it could be. It was Rs. 60/- component of fee for the hostel annually. Each hostel was maintained by at least 10 gardeners. The hostel rooms were shared by 2 students in the first year, but second year onwards every students had single room.

Alumni/Alumna :

Yes, there is great alumni network not only in India but in United states, united kingdom and Singapore.

Exam Structure :

No, exams and labs were not very hectic. Labs were filled with high quality machines. Only disadvantage at that time was not having a good computer lab common for all IIT students. There was a good computer lab but that was available only for computer science students. Now everything has changed, now it has world class computer labs.

Admission :

I got a letter from IIT Kharagpur that I need to go there for counselling process. I went there with my parents and other friends who had also qualified in IIT JEE. I was given an option form where list of IITs and its courses were there. I filled that form based on my priorities. I opted only for IIT BHU as I knew that it was economical to study there. Although there were provisions of taking educational loans in IIT Kharagpur but I did not want to give my parents more financial load as they had financial problems. My other friends took admission in IIT Kharagpur and IIT Kanpur, I too wanted to take admission there as my IIT JEE rank was good enough, but opted for IIT BHU due to financial constraints.

Faculty :

Teachers were very qualified, most of them had studied out of India, some of them were writers of many books. They were all very qualified and good some of the teachers were allowing students to visit their home for any notes related stuffs. Some of the teachers were taking care of hostels as warden too.

In my perspective the overall experience is very good but in the time of tough competition placement percentage is slightly decreasing and anyone who has decided to get enroll in this college must not depend only on college training and placement department
