Remarks :

Our campus is clean. I really enjoy a here. Our senior and guide is also good.

Entrance Preview :

I took qualify GATE entrance. After qualifying GATE exam I applied for Ph.D and then I qualify interview and took a admission for Ph.D.

Course Curriculum Overview :

During Ph.D for the first year we have to complete the course work then research is going on. Course work is based on the research topic. Research topic is decided by DSC members of the Ph.D student.

Internships Opportunities :

I dont have any internship experience. How can I describe. But I went for different conference. There I met so many people and gather research experience.

Placement Experience :

Here at IIT Kharagpur job opportunity is very less. Although we can apply for post doctorate in different country. Also we can apply to any college for the post of assistant professor.

College Events :

Spring Fest is a cultural festival in spring fest participants are from different colleges. Kshitij is technological festival,Great Step is also a technological festival which celebrated in the department of Mining Engineering.

Fee Structure And Facilities :

It is expensive. Since IIT Kharagpur is fully residential those who are staying out they need to pay hostel overhead charges. This is really bad.

Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :

Yes there two banks inside IIT Kharagpur (PNB and SBI). They give student loan facility. But it is really bad after passing out it become compound interest.

Campus Life :

It is really nice. Since I came from a village. When I first came I was shy. But now a days I have no problem to talk with any un known persons. Beside study I think it is also required.

Hostel Facilities :

Hostel facility is okay okay type. Very oily food in every morning they used to give bread butter which make acidity to the student.

External Expense : Rs. 4000 - Rs. 7000

Alumni/Alumna :

My senior are really nice. There is no ragging in our campus. They are helpful. Each time I need any type of help without any hesitation I went our senior for help. They also help with their smiling face.

Exam Structure :

In IIT Kharagpur in every semester there is a mid term exam and 30% marks of that mid term exam is added to the final. Mid term exam has been taken after two months of joining.

Faculty :

They are really good and helpful. Each time whenever we faced any problem we can share with our teachers. Since IIT kharagpur is fully residential we can devote ourself fully for study also prof can give more time.

My experience in IIT Kharagpur

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for campus placements in the pre-final year of their course. A large number of companies visit our campus which includes Google, Microsoft, Samsung etc. The highest package offered was that of 1 crore while the average package is about 7-8 lakhs per annum. The placement is close to 100%. After getting a degree, I will sit for campus placements as well will apply offline to Academic Institutions.

IIT Kharagpur from the perspective of a PhD student.

Placement Experience:

In the UG courses, the placements start from the 6th semester, while for Ph.D. students, it is generally in their final year when they get eligible to appear for the placements. IIT Kharagpur has a very strong alumni network and generally, all the big shot companies like Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Honeywell, Scheider, BCG, Barclays, and several PSUs visit for the placements. The average package is around 7-14 lakhs p.a. and the highest package of 1 crore is offered every year and almost 90-95% of students from the various programmes bags a placement. For Ph.D. students, generally, some core companies offer placements, while most of the students opt for becoming faculty in prestigious engineering colleges of the country. Although. after completing my curriculum, I will be joining a post-doctoral programme at a foreign university.

Admission:

For PhD admission, there will be initial shortlisting based on B. Tech and M. Tech marks. Then candidates will be called for the written test. Shortlisted candidates will be allowed to sit in an interview. The final selection is based on academic records, written test marks, and interview performances.

Placement Experience:

Over 90% of students from BTech get jobs. The company list and their intake are given every year in the Institute website. Salary reaches above 1 cr INR. About 70% of MTech got the job. Few PhD also get the job in the college placement drive.

Remarks:

First of all this college infrastructure is good enough.More focus should be laid on sports as well as on the provision of new equipments in all the laboratories. The political side is also be prevented. The campus is ragging free. Lift facilities are available.The college is decent but with more care and support it has the capability to achieve greater heights
